Formula for calculating a countdown

Hello everybody,
I ask for help with a small problem. I want to create a countdown that targets a specific date. After many attempts I despair slowly ;-). I am a cook and not a mathematician. Can someone help me with the formula?

No worries @chpschubje. #DD# is your tag for day In the year out of 365. I did (359-#DD#) to get a countdown to christmas. 359 is christmas day. Just putting #DD# in your text field will show your current day in the year. Use that to find the number for the day you want to count down till. Then put that number into the equation (your date-#DD#) . Hopefully this helps and makes sense.
