I’ve tried several watch faces and have the same issue. Every time the screen dims in AOD, the watch face freezes. It updates every minute, but the second hand never goes away. The dim mode doesn’t seem to be working. Any suggestions? I’m using a Huawei Watch with a Pixel 2 XL.

That’s unfortunately a limitation of the Huawei Watch and all WearOS watches today - the screen can only be updated once a minute in dim mode. The fact that the second hand is still displayed is a design decision made by the creator of the watch face.
Note that future WearOS watches may not have this limitation.
