Nice response to a great challenge . Well done @tom.vannes and @icrltd4 .
.
Thanks @russellcresser, thanks all! Always nice get feedback. Would be cool if more folks would join such challenges, including the creative masters and partners out there!
My appeal to all, do join! I am always astonished what amazing watch faces everyone comes up with!
Yeah I would have jumped at that one but Facer Creator is not working so well on my Tablet . We are away at the moment . Some very Creative Design work is generated by theses challenges . Well done all .
Next time it might be a Shape, an Image, or Theme but whatever Challenge may come… May The Force And Power Of Greyskull be with us ![]()
just published this one:
You nailed this one! I’m sucked right into it.
Does this fit for what the challenge is?
Awesome, with your own unique style too ![]()
Nice work there my friend ![]()
thanks Ed! I do a lot less of the classic analog these days because I can’t use VARs to bring up the data mode. I miss making these!
thanks! It was a good idea to issue the challenge ![]()
Another great one!!!
Well, what on Facer gives you a shadow that changes over time? The hands.
So, I make the tick marks move like hands so that their shadows change. The hour hand stays still since the tick marks rotate using the smooth hour hand rotation function. The minute hand rotates with the smooth minute function minus the smooth hour function.
Seems to keep time correctly, but it’s a pain to read. The Ambient screen has no shadows and only the hands rotate.
Well, some hour numbers make it a bit easier to read, maybe.

I might have taken it too far with the gyros and shadows. I’ll publish once I get my promo media created. It’ll be CX048.
Ironically, this (full video, not shortened) video saved as an MP4 is 500k, and as a GIF is 12 megs. It’s too bad this forum doesn’t allow MP4 files. I wouldn’t have had to chop so much off the video.
Great shadow effect there, very nice work, very nice indeed ![]()

How the hel* did you accomplish this? That’s different!!!
I’m not sure if Gyros are available in Facer Creator, I do all of my development in Samsung Watch Face Studio. I created shadows of the resources (I guess making additional resources), and layered them and assigned gyro movement to each shadow, varying the amount the shadows move based on which layer its in and it’s depth. I’m not sure if I explaining this in an easy way to understand. I can make (Peter) style video and post it later.
I think that shadows like that can be achieved using the Gyro function of Watches…if I remember correctly ![]()
That’s exactly how I did it. I just wasn’t sure it Facer Creator has this functionality.
So when I move my watch, the shadows follow my movement. It looks like a physical watch with a light shining down on it from the ceiling casting shadows.
