Hi guys,
Sorry for my outdated question, but is Facer already compatible with the Ultra version? If not, is there still a possibility or has it already been decided that it cannot be applied to the Ultra version?
By all accounts the Ultra is still not compatible . But Gw4 and up are Updated to WOS5 now so we are missing nothing . It will be sorted . But like the other updates there was no notice it just started happening . @mrantisocialguy is the man with a GW Ultra and the Brain to run it properly .
Reading above the Ultra and GW7 come with WearOs 5 OoB so Facer is currently incompatible.
Last read is that the Facer team are working hard towards a resolution but there is not yet a final conclusion as to whether this will be possible without a massive overhaul of how Facer works.
Unfortunately it’s not.
But there is always hope it will be solved some day
…
I am wondering if there will end up being a 3rd new watch option WearOS 5+ in Facer.
If things end up down the new rules rabbit hole at least we know we will have no trouble finding the required number of testers here.
That seems like the only option but I bet they would have to be big changes amongst the creator partners. Would the partners all have to go out and get their own Play accounts? That’ll be fun for them . What do you do about the revenue sharing model? Also, does Google eat another 15% on every sale? It’s a nightmare to be sure.
I can’t see a move by facer to Play store will introduce any new tags much the opposite probably - it will be a retrograde step. So this means for me that currently Facer is better and I will not bother worrying about Play. My learning curve is so long and the existing standards so high that I will be happy with zFacer as it is now for a long time yet. Providing of course they don’t drop it altogether!
If Facer redesigns the creator so that it can create watch faces for the 7 series, it will drop to the level of WFS and thus lose money, first of all, then popularity because it will be the same shit that can’t do anything like WFS.
If only they would address the other things that users are asking for, like the ability to create folders and such, but they don’t do anything. What they changed was the ability to insert an image through an external window, and that would make my dick burst at the seams. An imbecile came up with that.
Steady On .
OMG, this hasn’t been solved? I so wanted a Oneplus 3 for my birthday
Eh, screw it. I’m getting it anyway and a google play developer account. Probably won’t sell anything though. I did that once with the precursor to smart watches and it was a pain in the … behind dealing with customer.
Yeah . Difficult to become a Seller on the Store . Enjoy WFS or Android Studio . Depending on your Skills . What was before Smartwatch ?
No one remembers but there was something called Pocket PCs.
Well, it was a huge pain but now I have a developer account and my first test watchface is on my watch. I could add 100 people as testers.
Oh Yeah . I had HP Ipaq . I Sat on one of them . OOOPs . Before that I was using Psion Organiser . WE were actually using them to time special effects .
Sorry to slide off topic .

Russell, you wanna beta test my WFS face? I can add your address to the beta testing mailing list and then send you the link. I’ll check in tomorrow.
Would Facer please get their behinds in gear and start supporting newer watches? WFS is okay to use but pretty rudimentary.
Trying to share watch faces on Google is a nightmare. I hate the Google console.
I’m sure they’re trying!
Why hasn’t this article been updated? Google announced at I/O 2025 that they have worked with Facer to be fully compatible with Wear OS 6. Here is the link (please note the link preview comment isn’t mine)
Maybe rudimentary in the cumbersome way of sending new face to watch, but otherwise offering for free half of the things Facer hides behind paywall. On top of that, for those really persistent gives at least small hope of slowly getting few coins back someday despite nightmare of play store.
Yet, dont rush Facer. I am glad they finally optimized well enough and l still have some nice platform supporting my Tizen watch.
Thanks for the catch! This post has been updated to reflect our May 2025 update.
