Yes PS is very Daunting . I actually use SKETCHBOOK PRO for a lot of stuff .Which used to be Free . But it shifts stuff off centre a little when you import it . I am lucky to have a CAD App that I have used for years . But that makes stuff that is very Technical .
Goddess, CAD Tried to draw the body of a DIY bass guitar last year with an AutoCAD trial. Took me the complete 15 trial days, I think. It’s not for me, sadly. WOuld love to be able to use such a thing, but the amount of discipline and concentration necessary beyond me
I used it for many years at work . Mostly Basic stuff for Laser cutting and Milling Machines . Not until I started Facer did I get into Rendering it . I still only do silver and gold because it is easy . AutoCAD is a Difficult place to start . Things like SketchUp are easier . But very Different .
There’s a great plugin pack for paint.net
that includes Text Formations but the first can be applied to the image instead of new text. Wait for the Fun Factory at the end that is new.
Anyway, creative text lets you take a simple hand like this:
and do things like this:
But for your text effects. Introducing the new Fun Factory:
Yes - exactly! I use two - remove.bg which removes a background and onlinepngtools.com which also removes backgrounds but can also make a colour transparent
ezgif does that too but also does stuff with anims. The others probably do too. I’ll check them out. Hadn’t heard of opg before. exgif is what I use to convert my screen recordings to animgif.
Seems I may want to download all this - looks fun and not overbearing like Adobe stuff. Cool, thanks!
You know, for making hands easy and fast you can even use MS Powerpoint.
Or for dials, an Excel pie chart: Easy dial makers
Would be interested to know the PP hand method. I’d been pondering something like flowchart elements for hands for more shape options than Facer
Decided to publish it - doesn’t seem to hard on the battery, and it’s kinda fun in an idiosyncratic way, I think
First time I have seen a premium publish with inspection open
Is this a no-go usually? Thought it wouldn’t hurt … there’s one or two faces by B# that are open for inspection
Not at all! It’s just unusual that’s all. It all depends on how much you want involve and educate others here in the community. As you are finding out this is a really great community with really helpful people. In my opinion inspection on is the way to go.
I’m used to sharing ideas, stemming from the DIY synth and DIY stompboxes communities. Never would have been able to get anything out of my audio electronics ideas if it weren’t for the community there. And facer absolutely has the same vibes, and that’s absolutely great. <3
@mrscolumbo I wonder what you have that is premium on your face . Sadly I can not sync it because I do not subscribe . I would publish a free version . It will be popular . Great to see something Unique . Yes Great Ethos to share . @rob.fisk It was pointed out to me that on the Creator Community section there are many Premium Inspectables . I was surprised to see that there was a Face using Shaders on it published open for Inspection .
I suppose it might tempt people to upgrade at least. Didn’t see anything wrong with it, quite the opposite, as stated by a few. Just surprised me as I had not seen it before. Will keep my eyes peeled.
Might open my eyes to effects I can see in more detail and find a close, free match to.
It has its limitations, but for basic shapes without need for pixel perfect it is quick and easy.
To judge the aspect ratio, place a background image of watchface in the slide.
Draw central circle, stem, ponter, merge the shapes, adjust outline, fill material and 3d effects.
Make a duplicate, turn it 180° pointing down and place it so, that the center parts merge.
Make duplicate transparent (strip its fill and outlines).
Select both and right click. Pick save as image from the popup menu.
It should save you a .png image with transparent background.

Ooops, sorry! Did not know I published it as “Premium”!! I subscribed to have access to all the functions. I will have a look and publish my faces as “free”, of course!
Well dang!
No Problem . We are all learning all the time . Sometimes you put a premium Feature in your face by mistake . You have to take it out to publish Free. You can always share an Inspectable draft her and we will check it .
