Could you be spared, if you did not claim that yours 8b was magical?
Yes of Course .
Dare I say⌠Seinfeld had the Soup Nazi, we have the Watchface NaziâŚ
I am tired of Marvin. I am on the verge of quittingâŚ
This 1 year old face was taken down when I updated it (managed to make a copy). No clue why. I have more faces named LYNX, which I also updated on the same day. So maybe Marvin found âLY06â to be an infringement.
Filed with Facer SupportâŚ
Was there no comment about the reason in the takedown notice?
I changed my email address in my Facer profile, now I no longer get notificationsâŚ
So I do not know the reason.
Oh no Please donât Go . Marvin seems to be busy taking down lots of updates . Republish the Draft .
No worries Russell, I wonât leave this community.
I just do not feel like publishing anything anymoreâŚ
Well we will all miss that . Give it a break . I will always be happy to test Faces Privately for you .
Tom, Iâve had the same problem with a face being taken down recently because it âinfringesâ on Call Of Duty - my design had sweet f-all to do with Call Of Duty! My design was originally called COLOUR CODE. Fortunately I make duplicates of all my designs & I just renamed it to HYBRID COLOURS and VOILA! Iâm still waiting to hear from them when I appealed over the weekend. It sucks big time. Marvin is busy getting rabid!
theyâve got officially licensed Call of Duty faces on Facer right? So not surprising theyâve added some new words to the filter. I think a few partners have also had old faces get flagged for Call of Duty infringement. What this likely means is that some harmless word in the description that used to be ok is no longer ok. Itâs stupid but the flipside is the owners of the IP for some of these brands are hyper aggressive about protecting it and Facer could easily get shut down or go broke defending against legal action if they arenât vigilant about policing whatâs available on their platform. With hundreds of thousand of faces there is no way to possibly do that except for automation. Thatâs why the fake rolexes and such still are present, the automated system seems to only be able to flag text not graphics. (although I had a harmless abstract art face get flagged by a NSFW filter of some kind ) I donât think they really want us to know exactly how the automated system works because then there will be people who use that info to try to get around it. Anyway, it is what it is, and itâs a hassle sometimes but I canât really blame Facer or hold it against them. They will always restore faces that were erroneously flagged.
And that might be the CODE they relate it to:
That makes it Impossible for us to use English to describe these faces . Perhaps we should all start using Sanscrit .
I have Encyclopaedia Britannica at home and it says it is copyright - so no we canât use any English word.
My belief is that no word should be copyrighted, nor can any colour for that matter. The world has gone crazy. What is against copyright is a real watch that is a copy of someone elseâs product with the intent to deceive.
Just to be provocative a Rolex face on a Smartwatch is not a copy of a Rolex product being that the Rolex is a mechanical watch. OK this appears not to be the case and I have never published a watch that is a representation of any product.
My watch face was restored!
That was really quick!
That is Cool . Mine was not .
Great! So was mine!
The Face was restored to my Drafts . I did not check .
Add Lego to the list of banned words!
Oh Shit . Is there a Lego brand now . You should be able to edit the WiKi but I will add it . Thanks .
