How can I only get the digits of the day to show on my watch creations?

You mean the current day of a month?
Use “#Dd#” tag for that.

No, how do I keep that date number the same color upon dimming? It’s turning white, and now it won’t show when the watch is dimmed.

Technically dim mode supposed to have only black/white colors in it, so strings cannot be changed.
