But I need your help. Is it better that the step is counting or showing the days of the week?

I would have weekday, but maybe not in red (or is that just for Sunday/Saturday).
I would then add in steps, above that (with copper/metallic border). And I would use rotating discs …

But, each to his own style …
in my opinion, better is “the days of the week”, but not red one.
When in doubt, use both:
Element 1:(squareWave(#Dsm#,100,6,50)*-1)
Element 2: (squareWave(#Dsm#,100,6,50))
