Curious about the copyright behind A.I. generated images. I understand they cannot be copyrighted, but are they frowned upon, such as, Facer would take down designs such as color blocks or icons created by A.I. I’m pretty new to all this, but I want to make sure I am following the rules to develop a brand.
I had a watchface receive a strike and was taken down for possible copyright infringement. I contested it with Facer and explained it was an A.I. generated image. They put my watchface back live again. That would lead me to believe that A.I. artwork is immune from copyright strikes as long as it’s not blatantly infringing. I know for a fact that A.I. generated artwork is not copyrightable in the U.S.A. So, if you generate it and put it out to the public and someone uses it, there’s not much you can do about it.
That is what I was thinking as well… I adore your designs by the way. I am looking to do the right thing, but a digital designer I am not. So far I have done my best to stay away from MOST things that are blatant. I could care less if someone makes something off my “a.i. work” I just want to make sure it isn’t so frowned upon I would get banned. Thank you Mrantisocialguy!
So here is one example - love a certain game for instance, threw their art concept into the mill and got some art results…It isn’t their work, but I just want to make sure something so close to their art style isn’t frowned upon.
I do believe there have been issues over, using someone’s artwork as the starter seed for an A.I. generated image. I don’t know of any lawsuits, but I have read about some “saber rattling” over it.
You are more likely to get a Take Down with something in the Title or description . I am very intrigued with your font . Not seen a ttf with its own Glow .
Good to know… it is a popular artform these days but I appreciate the feedback so I don’t get messed about with design.
The glow itself is within the Facer creator, I just added a the white glow to the font. I’ve realized the lower the glow the more noticeable it is. Default is 10,but I shoot for 3-5sih
If you are talking about the text effect list, it doesn’t work well on WearOS watchfaces. The glow or stroke will shift sideways and show as twice as much text. It works perfectly on Tizen powered watches, just not WearOS ones for some reason.
Oh Yeah . Shit I forgot . We stopped using it a few years ago because it only worked on Tizen Watches. My memory is my worst enemy but then again every day is fresh and new . I will test your face and see . I am using a GW5 Pro at the moment .
Yes that is what I’m talking about. I wear a Samsung 5 and it seems to work OKay…not for all fonts mind you, but as long as you keep it minimal it seems to be fine? But then trial and error is my life at the moment… a month in, but learning fast!
Ohh that is cool
Seems to work now? I dunno, maybe it’s just my old eyes, but it does seem to function.
