I feel your pain. All of my faces are free. I still get whiners wanting another color, my language doesn’t fit on the face, etc. It’s just the times we live in my friends.
Thank you, masterboyhr!
I think I speak for most of us when I say link it here and we will flag that comment it for you!
I have been having the same problem here, someone telling me to remove the battery icon and the WiFi Icon and add a small Analog face, This person is always complaining about my Designs, I think I will just ignore her/him. I have done it for him/her a few times but this is now a constant complaint, I just a noob like he/she is.
If the complaints get really disrespectful, send a ticket to Support to have them removed.
Partners definitely get our fair share of similar comments - 99% of people are super encouraging and supportive though, so focus on them rather than the 1% yelling into the ether ![]()
I have found that most users are pretty discerning and savvy and very supportive. There are however, a small % that are entitled and want everything for nothing even on a free face. And don’t get me started on WFF. My designs are not WearOS compatible and it says so. But I still get wrist shots of blank fields on my designs and comments like, “why are these fields empty?” So, I have a canned response for that.
I think it is a good business practice to reply to all comments. Canned responses to the negatives are fine as long as they are not nasty. That way all users feel as if they have been heard.
I’m never nasty even to the users who are. Comments are obviously read by lots of other people, so it’s important to keep things civil.
Same here.
But I have reported a user who had a dirty comment in his description and posted garbage on one of my faces.
I can relate! We never know what kind of trials people are going through in their lives, but I wish they wouldn’t vent in the watch face comments or in the community.
When I was first starting, I used to ask mrantisocialguy to make some changes to faces. Always polite, I’ll never understand people who want something and are rude. I learned to make my own faces by being polite and asking for help. It’s just stunning that people get rude in here. I guess some people are just sad/mad and want company in their misery, so they think being rude will lead to the target of their ire being mad/sad as well.
@kd7eir
Thanks for the shout out. I suppose Facer has people just like our hobby has those “Sad Hams” I keep hearing about. ![]()

All forums do. Although it is the job of some people to be sad hams in communities - not necessarily negative, but to keep the conversation flowing and to keep things civil.
@Linlay
In our Amateur Radio hobby, the term “sad ham” is an old curmudgeon who if you didn’t pass the same exam tests they had to take. And be able to use Morse Code as your only on-air activity, they don’t think that you are a “real” ham radio operator. Basically, no matter what you say or do it is never good enough in their eyes. I’m sure we all remember the user who called themself beatnickjones. Even writing that name brings back bad memories for me and a few others on here.
Yes, generally, but if you search online there are some other traits. I suppose it depends on whom you ask. (My son has been a ham radio operator for about 10+ years.)
Oh cool, I’ve been a ham for 26 years now.
36 years for me. I passed my 13 wpm CW, I just couldn’t get 20 to words, so got to Advanced Class. I never went for my Extra Class after they dropped the code requirement. I’m hardly ever on the air anymore.
…and for the record, I HATE CW with passion!!!
