Bugged Face Thumbnail

Hi everyone! Sorry for the stupid question but why sometimes the sequences triggered on wake are not shown on the thumbnail while creating a watchface? Is it a bug and does someone know how to avoid it? Thanks in advance!

Welcome @mitko_strelec88 Sequences never show in preview thumbnail . We put in a still of the animation and show it with $#DWE#>0?0:100$ in the opacity field of the image .

Thank you! Almost all my faces have their sequences in the thumbnails… Once they were released thay didn’t have animated thumbnails. It may sound funny but one evening I reopened one face and updated it without making any changes, then the animation started to show. I remembered what I did and repeated exactly the actions, for example go to dim mode, click update, click play… All faces which were in the beginning bugged got animated thumbnails. This time I repeated the row of actions for other faces but with no success

Yeah sometimes I think you can get that to work . I think it depends on the Trigger . All the stuff I do is triggered on Wake . I think that the ones Triggered by Sync may show in Thumbnail . I just think it is better to have a Dummy Image than nothing .

On sync they are shown with no animation. The problem is that I need those gifs to trigger on wake, because are 3 gifs in a row

Yes. There is no other way to run them Sequentially . But are you saying they work on creator but not on a watch . If you post the inspectable link here we can have a look . Watches are a bit mor fussy about Syntax .

The face work properly on both. I am just angry because when I release a face it is not that attractive in the time it is up in the “fresh faces” list. And when I will fix it it will be no longer there. It is a little bit cosmetic advertising issue because of which the designers could lose potential followers.

Well take down the one that doesn’t show properly and publiish a duplicate of your Draft. Publish a test using the Trick I posted to see how it works first.

I fixed it! Just reposted the watchface and used the steps I did last time (then it didn’t worked): Edit, click on dim mode, update. I think that is a bug, because it work always when a specific time has past. Now all of my faces have animated thumbnails with gifs on wake.

Fantastic. We don’t have a SOLUTION flag here BUT this is good news. Well Done.

My workflow for animations is to set the animation Sequence to Trigger on Wake and add an additional static image with this code $#DWE#>0?0:100$ in the Opacity Field. Most times the thumbnail will still be static when I publish the face. So when the animation doesn’t show on thumbnail I reopen the face and save it again “after midnight” my time. Crazy… I don’t know why this happens, but it works for me.
You can check out any of my animated faces and see this. All my faces are open to view.
Here is one example:

Yeah well done . Each Web Page and App previews them differently . Just carry on with what you are doing .

Thx Russell. You are very kind. I didn’t even think about browser, etc. Of course, that makes total sense.

If you Post a link on Face Book from the App on a phone . Comes up as a 5 second Gif . The thumbnail on the App Fresh faces is Brilliant And the Preview . I am trying to find one that does not work . I published a Face that has an Animation but it is not a Sequence it is a Live action Pendulum timed to 5 seconds so it previews nicely .

Ha . Thank you . The trick is to get your animation to look as smooth as a Shader then Give it away for Free .

I found a solution for the problem. Just go to the settings of your computer and adjust the time (easily with the time zone) between midnight and 10:10 a.m. (the time shown always on the thumbnail). Then you republish your old face or you adjust the time if needed when you release a new one.
