At ILJ, we have tremendous respect for traditional watch design. But our creative process isn’t centered on simply giving familiar watch elements a new color, bezel, or hand configuration.
We begin with a different question:
What else can time look like?
Parallax explores that question through motion. Hours travel along a vertical timeline. Minutes move with an articulated carriage while remaining perfectly upright. Seconds progress along their own curved trajectory. At key points in the cycle, the mechanism changes orientation, and at the completion of twelve hours it gracefully returns home to begin again.
Every movement has a purpose. Every movement communicates time.
ILJ isn’t about moving away from the traditions of watchmaking. It’s about exploring those traditions from a different perspective, and creating new ways to experience something we look at every day.
