Code 16 18 21 24 36 48 60?

Recognise the sequence of numbers ? No - it’s not a secret code or anything like that! It’s the font sizes available in Facer Creater - well some of them anyway. Why do I bring this up? Well, I published the watch below -

Bielitz - BLZ-87 Digital Blue - watch face for Apple Watch, WearOS, Galaxy Watch, Pixel Watch, Huawei Watch, and more - Facer?

After a while I looked at it again and decided that the font size I used for the date was too small (21) and made it bigger on the next iteration of the face and it looked much better! But why did it look better bigger? Aesthetics - maybe, but aesthetics are a personal choice so its not necessarily the case. It just looked better that’s all. The truth is that the font sizes are a guide to how good looking text is done - particularly on a page, headings, sub-headings, normal text etc. These font sizes have grown up from the days of typesetting and publishing. Not so important these days when every thing is possible on a PC. I mean what would be wrong with 10 - 20 - 30 etc? So why do these odd sizes still exist in almost every program or app? Like I said at the start - they’re a guide - stick with them and you will have a decent looking text. Having said all that - without my glasses I couldn’t read the date !

Great Face . Yes a sense of proportion is required . So refer to the Golden Section and the Fibonacci Spiral . As long as it looks good to you . Stuff made to rules looks boring . Enjoy .
