Custom complication issues

Hey all, so before I submit a ticket about custom compilation issues I am having I thought I’d run it by here first to see if others are experience this too.

I have been using the “mini rectangle” complication and I notice a couple of things. One is that the custom complication does not seem to turn off if you have it de-selected in Ambient mode. It still shows up when my watch (Watch 8 Classic) is in AOD. The second issue is that theme colors only work with the “title/info color” and do not apply to the “info color”. Also the complications, regardless of where they are in the layer stack also seem to go right to the top and even using an “AOD filter” does not seem to diminish the brightness at all.

I also wish there was more flexibitly in terms of placing and sizing icons and fonts within the “slot box” area. Hopefully Facer can improve on these custom complication features.

I have also noticed that complications are not hideable in ambient mode. Also the layer order is ignored. They always seem to be placed on top of all other layers, so you cannot hide it with another layer.
The other thing that i dont like is that the icon colour selected does not always take precedent on step/weather (this may be same in WFS).
For ultimate flexibility you have to create in WFS. I am resisting as I prefer Facer Creator and am waiting patiently for Facer support to bring new features in time.

I made a ticket with a detailed explanation and pics of the issue. I have spent A LOT of time in WFS and I am extremely familiar with the ins and outs of it… and yes for now, complications there are way more flexible but honestly, I don’t think import .aab is the way to go in Facer. I am trying to work exclusively in Facer Creator and let’s hope Facer can make the fixes and surpass whatever else is out there in the long run.

In WFS the Complication Colors don’t seem to work right when selecting them from here (the top), but do from each individual element.

I wish there was a WFS Category here. Nobody uses the Samsung Forum anymore, since Samsung destroyed it back in December.

@ed.ludwig. Why can’t you start your on topic on it? After all Facer does support .aab files that are imported from WFS. Would everyone be upset? Just curious…

Yes - I would be upset. This is Facer not WFS.

I think its fine if its just a separate topic. There are plenty of topics I dont look at.

I think that this forum would then quickly become dominated by WFS users to its detriment.

Why would you think that?

Same here…

Its already starting, let’s just say it’s limited to the import process - would you be happy with that limitation? In my opinion we should understand thay WFF and WFS are competitors to Facer and should have their own user forum.

I look at it as collaboration, not competition. Facer Creator is just a part of Facer. There’s no reason WFS can’t also be a part of Facer, it already is. It’s a good thing, not bad thing. How could it possibly ever be a bad thing?

Until now this community has been very open and welcoming.

We have to agree to disagree. Only time will tell.

WFF is a part of Facer now and so are imports. Maybe Facer can add a place for those of who use WFS. Maybe the few of us here that use WFS could request this. It doesn’t hurt to try.

I dont wanna step on any toes and this is nothing personal, but I dont think we should have any outside elements happening here. This isn’t some sort of hub, this is Facer. That said, if that’s how it’s gonna be, then i dont mind if they have a topic/section here.

May I join in . Are we saying that We should not discuss the Apple Faces that are hosted on Facer . I think possibly WFS stuff could be discussed here . I would say perhaps it could be a Wiki and attended by those who are interested and not by those who are not . I think it is a shame that WiKis are not used more .
I am wondering if we should ask @Facer_Official and @ariel if it might be a good Idea to have a New Separate Category for Imported WFS .aab Faces . These Faces offer a level of interactivity that is not possible on Facer Creator at the moment . Most Makers on Creator Could make the swap relatively easily . The most marvelous thing about WFS is that we are responsible for Archiving our work on our own systems . The WFS IDE is Downloaded . Obviously there are some drawbacks but there are with all the platforms .

We just need our own Category. Hey but I totally understand. Why have topics on 2 different creating platforms in one forum? It just doesn’t make sense… or does it? Where creators here on Facer use one or the other. Or like me, I use both. It would be like a one stop shop… get everything in one place… lol, Facer could be the 1st ever to do this! Don’t mind me ya’ll… I’m just dreaming… maybe one day… :slightly_smiling_face:

The issue is the whole game is in a state of flux . Very few of us are capable of Making faces in the Second Party ( Android Studio ) . I have not met anyone yet who Work in Native OS hard coding watches . That is where the Faces are made that run on a watch for a Week or so before draining the battery . Most of us Mortals work on the Third Party Platforms . I note here that Facer also Publishes Faces that are Made on the Apple Face Making IDE . So that is 3 platforms , I know of , that Faces can be made on . There have been so many OS changes I admire facer for what they have achieved . I can Imagine there will be more significant changes over the next few years and many of them will Irk those of us that have been around awhile . Sit Tight , Carry on and Enjoy .
