I have an idea that i can’t seem to find the right font for. I would like to use a “Cutout” font to show the background behind it. I mean that the font will be on a dark panel and the character will be cut out of the panel to show a contrasting background through the character.
I know I can probably create the font through fontstruct (if I’m really lucky) but I thought i’s look for the font first.
The easiest way is to use just about any art program these days and make the letter colour transparent. The only ‘difficulty’ is of course is the letter is not text but an image
I created the font myself, but I have not published it because it is nerve wrecking to create and so I only have the numbers… if you want it, let me know
And a few others . What you might be looking for is an Inverted Monospaced Font . I have a Few but we can not post them here . Peter @petruuccios has made a few . I am sure Peter will not mind me sharing his link .

You dont necessary need the font to be monospaced or fixed character width, but it contributes to predictable size of the covered area.
If you happen to visit the Fonstruct pages, there is a whole category for inverted fonts (not just mine).
In generall you can look even for other key words like negative, inverse, mask or white on black and so on…
