Darts face because

…my friend and I were following the WC Darts and he asked for fun: can you make a darts watch?
I just took a pic from internet and put 2 hands on it.
Later the idea grew that I could take a picture of my own dartboard and use my arrows to kind of ‘motion-picture-wise’ throw a dart at the board

That looks pretty good. The only thing I would change is making some dart watch hands instead of the stock Facer ones. Here is a quick mockup I made of how it could look.

Just make sure you make the center point of the hand in the middle of the total image height and width. That way it will pivot correctly without a lot of extra fiddling with it.

Yeah, I tried that before, but I gave up because it wasn’t the way i wanted (i used my own darts, and they don’t stand out to the background,
i’ll pick up your idea, more plactic 1 coloured arrows, for another version.
Face is ready for now but not finished, because i want to open a light on it…

I used the set of Dimitri Van Den Bergh for hour, and Peter Wright’s for minute. Very nice darts in real but not suitable for a face

Coming along . I understand you are trying to do something clever with the date . But at the expense of the other numerals . Keep it a 6 . You will get a lot of respect from Makers / Designers for making your own font but the average user will not even guess the Work there .

Hi Russel

Can you rephrase this? Are you talking about the dates at the regular face here?

Thing is I already cut out the 12 number of the dartboard so had 0-9, these i wanted to put in a font for the regular face. In the end it didn’t work out well.
I just put at at the dim side.

Do you mean the watch gets less readable because numbers come and go?

Yeah . In the one I looked at the date circulated round the face till 12 the stuck at 1 and other numerals disappeared . Al I am saying is you do not have to be that clever . Just leave the Date in the BOX at 6 .

Yes numbers disappering is the intention.

  • 13th, 1 stays and 3 joins (so 3 disppears on the 13th)
  • 14th, 1 stays and 4 joins (so 4 disappears on the 14th)

Fooling around.Mostly I’m not really busy with making a ‘real’ face, I follow my imagination.
But I totally understand what you mean.
I’m gonna make some different version I think

If you put something up for Comment I am always going to try and be Honest . I can only offer you my personal opinion . I made some Battery gauges that ranged the whole face . I decided I did not want to search the whole face for the Information . Same with Date . But it is your Face your Way . Sometimes the best Ideas are Left Field . You are learning Quickly Well Done .

I think that’s a good thing, as long as it’s constructive, which I always find in your reactions (on the forum too). Different opinions puts (some) people to think and make great things…

hands not too visible when I see it now, gonna change colours into some more sparkling…
Cause I kinda like the dart itself.

Date is better in my Opinion . I miss the Darts in the Treble 20. We can always suspend our Disbelief . You could have them in the Bull and change the title . Ha Ha .

“Cheap” first aid could be
a) adding shade layers as black semitransparent duplicates under the hand layers or even simpler
b) turning on the built in shade feature on the hand layers (but those are too faint for my taste and they can not be adjusted).

Also simple adding some yellowish “brass” tint to the handles can help make them stand out more against background

I preferred the original, with the flying Dart for the 180 :upside_down_face:
