This is NO SHOWING-OFF thread, lol! I’m pretty much a n00b, and my Photoshop skills are an ass, but it’s fun to discuss things with people that are better at this than I will ever be. If you chime in, I’ll be high as a kite If you give me stuff, and I use it, it will be in the description with a link, of course!
But it’s first and foremost for fun. I’m through with “serious” watch faces for the moment.
Here’s first impressions using 4 combined layers, but it’s 3, not 4 , because I seem to have accidentally deleted one of them. Sucks to be my brain.
Just open it in the Creator if you’re interested. Nothing going on in this “preview”
I will add shadow layers and highlight layers, animate some stuff etc.
All that counts for me.
Now, this may not give you what you need but 2 tone transparency layers are something I have played with so this might give you some ideas. It’s an old, non optimised one but has the verticality:
Please Excuse the crude Maths . WE can have it more accurately tied to Sr Ss but as a quick test it might help. Simulates with the Time machine slider .

Whoa - way ahead of me there But yes, absolutely, there should be glinting and sparkling windows and such. Like Joni Mitchell’s “TV-blue windows”, only without TV. Will think of something, thanks for the hint!!!
Nothing crude in your example! I revised my “Berryblue” formulae a bit and came up with 4 phases:
night sky fades into dawn phase which fades into day phase. At sunset there’s a short afterglow bloom until the night settles in. Bit of timing fine-tuning necessary …
Playing around with a layer of pitch black shadows setting in after sunset and before sunrise to deepen the night scenery. And I need to ash-out the colours of the day scenery a bit.
And of course the unnamed Jedi, he should be illuminated accordingly
And of course the sun has to be behind the clouds - but there’s no cloud layer yet. Haven’t had the impetus to hit Photoshop
Bit of purple sun action between 11.20 and 13.30 now. Maybe I add a short green sun phase in the late after noon?
I noticed that the deep shadows should last longer in the morning and start to deepen earlier in the evening. Will have to fine-tune my complicated formula.
There ocurred to me a thought about time display: those jedi always carry some sort of portable mini holographic display. Maybe my Jedi has something like that on the ground to his left, projecting the time in to the city center? I’ll have a look at that later in the day. Have a great day y’all!
Thanks for the kind words! I still think it’s quite shoddy - still trying to work out how to cut correctly in Photoshop. But I like cartoon-style going-ons, not sure about the battery usage, though. Many formulae, many layers. We’ll see, I guess
The cells on watches are so much better these days people are not worrying too much about battery life . A couple of years ago no one made " White " Faces . Its the amount of light that is being transmitted that is the biggest draw . I suppose a load of animations running Fast could drain the cell . Maths does not . Facer itself uses about 1% ph to run Depending on the mAh of your cell . I am talking about something that is 300mAh . As long as the User is intrested i syncing it an possibly giving you a Comment . That is the best . We dont know how long they wear the Faces . I suspect the next day they might have another . Enjoy .
