Experiment with importing .aab file

Out of curiosity I prepared simple watch face in WFS and tried to import it in beta creator.

Since the newest Galaxy Watch 8 should be the one with new OS supporting this feature I picked it as preview watch template.
It however looks somehow not fitting the template, and clipping the inner bezel numbers on it.

It was out for about 6hr, but I have no idea whether it is downloadable or even visible for new watches.
To change the template I tried to update the description, but on the update attempt I received this

I did not contact support yet, as I think it is a minor flaw and the template in description page was changed in the end. I do not know what should I ask for when the form says “how can we help you?”.

That was Peters face from WFS. The watch I loaded it on is the Samsung Galaxy 8 Classic.

AFAIK when importing signed .aab file, Facer will only take the watchface.xml, image assets, font files from res folder and then converted to .apk that support watchfacepush. Thats why sometime it caused fail when importing .aab file with customizable watch face because Facer will modify the watchface.xml before convert it. CMIIW.

Thank you for testing, looks like it is working in the end
@jason.clarke.uk it seems you actually synced it, yet the creator page does not register it.

Hi @Zola . You seem to know what you are talking about . It is obviously a bit easier to prepare the .aab to import to Facer . But many of us know how to make a .apk . Is there a good reason why Facer do not ask for .apk ? Despit it being a little more complex tp prepare .

Please excuse me Peter. Jumping in on your topic. Here is one I imported a few day ago. Got one sync I think. Thanks to you for the smooth Moon Concept.

The reason is maybe in the future we can import .aab file and then edit it directly in Facer Creator. So, with Facer’s Rosetta Stone that watch face can be deploy to multiple smartwatch platforms.

I highly doubt it, since there are functions and features incompatible on one hand and other “free” features in the WFF imported faces, that are in Facer’s current system considered as premium, like color themes, shortcuts or style customization.
