I have several Facer faces which used to work fine, but they have now all stopped displaying my steps properly. I checked all of the permissions that I think Facer needs to work properly and can’t see anything that needs to be allowed that isn’t. I’m using a Google Pixel Watch 2 and it’s running Wear 4.0.
That is a known problem with the original and Pixel Watch 2. Google is “supposed” to be working on a fix for it, but it’s been two years now and hasn’t been fixed yet. This is not Facer’s fault because WearOS is failing to send Facer the data for some reason. As of right now your only option is to switch to a Pixel watchface then back to Facer. That is supposed to wake up WearOS to start sending step data again.
There was a post today from a member at the FB group. The URL is too long to post here, and I did not ask for permission to use the member’s name, but this is what he had to say:
1. Uninstall Facer from Phone and Watch.
2. Launch Google Fit and give it access to Health Connect
3. Reinstall Facer to Phone and have the Phone app re-install the Watch app
4. Select a Watch face for Facer.
5. When asked about permissions on the watch, it will want you to select the option to “Always” have connecting to health data. Instead, select, the option for “Only in when in use”
After that, I could see steps on my Facer watch faces. Hope it works for you.
If you have a Pixel let us know if it works - and better yet keeps working.
It you are a member of the FB group you can comment there as well. If you are not a member there I do not recommend it unless you have a thick skin in order to overlook all the rude and obnoxious people.
tried this on my Google pixel pro 6 with Pixel 1 watch and still didn’t work.
