Every day or 2 the face on my Pixel Watch 2 goes blank & I have to reset it back to my Facer design. Then when try to set it back to Facer it just goes into a loop of showing the message “One more step: Long press on current face & scroll to set it to Facer” which I do over & over but just wont’ set it to Facer. Reboots don’t work either. Really unsure why I’m paying money for this app if it only works half the time.
Clear your cache on your watch. It sounds like the app running in the background is getting corrupted.
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve actually cleared my cache and/or rebooted the watch…much less for someone suggesting something so basic & unhelpful…I’d have lots of dollars!
It’s become a multiple times daily thing where I’ll look at my watch & instead of my custom (PAID FOR) Facer dial, it’s an all black face with just white digital numbers for the time & nothing else. More annoying is going in an unending circle of reloading the face (from either my phone, computer or the watch itself), waiting thru the loading time only to be greeted with the “One final step” pop-up which tells me to then long-press on the current dial (which should be a Facer one already), scrolling to Facer & setting it again from there. Problem is when I do that it goes thru the reload then the “One final step” instructions again…and again…and again…and again. Literally in a useless circle & never loading the Facer face.
Not a “corrupted cache” issue unless you’re saying the app is so bad that its cache corrupts every couple of hours. Trying to understand what it is I actually paid for here?!?
In The Facer app settings in the list of connectable watches down the bottom are two Generic Companion App links . Try that . WOS obviously . Sadly I do not know if that is an answer but I wonder why they have a Generic Companion App . I was using it for no good reason . I have to check and see if I am still .
Huh?? There’s a single Selected Watch, which is my Pixel 2 (I have no other watches) & there’s a section titled Facer Companion App, which is the…Facer Companion App. There isn’t more than one item in any of the sections. And also, try what?? You point me to settings but nothing to actually try. So no, this isn’t an answer to why my watch face keeps disappearing & getting replaced with one I’ve never seen before. It’s not even a default Google Pixel Watch display, it’s literally just a black screen with generic white numbers for the time & no other info.
And yes, MONTHS later & this still happens regularly for no reason. Not a reboot or any changes corrupting anything, just look at the watch one minute & it’s fine, next time I look at the watch it’s changed to this useless face. Is there anyone that actually works/develops at Facer that helps here in the “support” section? It’s clearly a Facer bug, especially the merry-go-round of long-pressing the face to set Facer as the default app & it not actually making a difference which forces you to keep going thru the loop.
There is no fix for this that I can find other than at some point after multiple reboots and/or just ditching the watch for the day (which defeats the whole purpose of having the thing), the Facer face will magically reappear. But it won’t last long.
On my Galaxy Ultra 7 (WOS6) when loading a face will show a generic time display and then finish loading. Your watch may be getting stuck on that generic time display and not completely loading the watchface. This can also happen even when you are not loading a new watchface.
This is the community forum, so you’ll mostly receive responses from the community. Have you tried contacting Facer Support and raising a ticket? I’m less inclined to offer advice to those who fire back at people trying to help them with ‘huh??’ and ‘that’s basic and unhelpful’ when they themselves haven’t provided much context, but I’m sure the dedicated support team will be able to advise. It sounds like a compatibility issue. I’d suggest including all the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken, plus the Facer version and watch OS version you’re using, and also attaching screenshots if you don’t want follow up questions.

They’re under the pump with the WFF conversion at the moment, but I’m sure they will get to your ticket as soon as they can. Best of luck.
This happens on my Ultra (WearOS 6) when I choose a face that’s not WFF compatible. Not sure why it lets you choose an incompatible face, but it does.
Do you have the Ultra selected as your watchface in the Facer app itself? If you’ve left it as your old watch, then it will display non-WFF faces. If you’ve got the Ultra selected in Facer, then it should only display compatible faces. If you’ve got an example where you’ve been able to sync an incompatible face can you post here and I’ll see if I can help out
@ed.ludwig
This is one of my published watchfaces that I know for sure is not WFF approved. My Facer app has Galaxy Watch 8 selected instead of my Ultra (WOS6) as the watch selected in the app. When I go this non-WFF watchface it shows Not Available, where the blue sync button is normally located.
I can sync unpublished non-WFF watchfaces “sometimes” from my account onto my Ultra. They have lots of missing parts or just end up being blank.
Its on the website in a browser that it allows you to attempt to sync any face to any watch.
I apologize for not clarifying that.
Ahh yes, sometimes it will say ‘WFF not available’ on your watch if you sync from the browser but sometimes it may slip through and sync with glitches. Best to sync from the app if you can to avoid that issue.
