printscreen or link to inspectable draft would be best for troubleshooting. From what you write I can only guess that your hand images do only have hands in them. Facer always takes center of the image as pivot point, so the hand has to be drawn with its turning point in center of the image and the rest remains transparent. Yes, would be helpful to see where you are at.
For hands you have 2 options. Either make an invisible circle around it, the center being the turning point. In the sample below, I make the red outlined circle invisible (line as no thickness).
Second option is to duplicate the hand, or just the outline and turn it by 180 degrees where ever your turning point is, and as above make it invisible:
