Have you tried the new Kick it watch face?

As part of our collaboration with the Riiiver team at Citizen Watch Group, we’ve released :trophy:Kick it, a free World Cup watch face that lets you follow the tournament right from your wrist.

Features include:
:trophy: Team flags and colors
:date: Upcoming match information
:bar_chart: Standings
:zap: Live match score updates

We’re especially interested in hearing your feedback because this is our first major test of bringing live sports data to watch faces.

What do you think, and what sport would you like to see us tackle next?

We’re actively exploring where this concept goes from here, so your feedback can help shape future releases!

This looks really exciting, especially the live sports data part. I’m very curious about how the live scores and standings are handled.

A few quick questions:

  1. Are live score updates pushed automatically to the watch face, or does the wearer need to refresh or reopen anything?
  2. What kind of update delay should users expect during a live match?
  3. Are standings updated in real time, after each match, or on a set interval?
  4. Does the watch need a phone connection, or can it update directly over WiFi/LTE?

Very cool direction for Facer. I’d love to learn more about how this works and where it might go next.

How about weather watching?

I guess there is no need to start my old gear S3, to prove this does not support tizen anymore…

Don’t feel bad, I have the original Classic still paired to my phone with Facer on it, but I never use it. It’s just too limited now. Especially on the sleep tracking since it doesn’t measure blood O2 levels. My Samsung Wear app keeps giving me warnings about deleting it since I’ve not used it for a long time.

I wish i could have incorporated live sport tags into my world cup faces. It would be great to see Facer bringing new sport tags to creator pro (i dont think this would be a free offering as there are subscriptions to access the datafeeds provided). It would be also good to have sport tags provided which allow different events and event types to be tracked. E.g. a face that shows only wimbledon tennis or another for premier league football etc. Needs some thought as to how to provide standard sport tags which deliver info that is event driven.
This is definitely something i would like to see more of.
The kick it watch would be better if it had an option to follow every game rather than you having to pick a team. Most people following world cup are interested when any game is played. I would have liked the kick it watch to automatically show each game when live. When multiple games are concurrent then the user would possibly need to switch if the auto picker selected a different game.
Wimbledon tennis next (track player, or highest ranking games live e.g. centre court)… F1 (track driver or team or p1,2,3) would be nice, Football league (track my fav team) would be fab

Great idea, but I would prefer if facer concentrated their resources on giving us back all the tags removed to ‘upgrade’ to WFS

Unfortunately, the countries where this is available, does not include South Africa. I really don’t know why they have limited the countries that can use this face. It’s a really cool concept and I would also love to know what tags they have used etc. I would’ve synced this to my watch just for the World Cup!
