What do I need to have to be able to add say reminders / events to my faces I design ? Do I need Pro ??

Yes, you need to update to Pro to be able to add that link into your faces.

This page starts explaining the Pro elements. If you look on the left just follow the ones below the theme link and you will see everything Facer offers. But your best bet after upgrading is doing like I did and just put stuff in test watch faces unpublished and syncing them to your watch to see how they function. It takes a little getting used to.
