How does the compas tag actually work?

Hust using the #CMP#tag on a compass point arrow the arros moves to the left more than you do and tto the right the same way.

I would expect it to always point North.

Fair enough, if it is the direction you are facing, what is the formula to make it point North?

@rob.fisk
The Compass on your NAV2 works fine if I test it on my Phone.
So sorry I can not test it on my Watch.
SAMSUNG watches do not have a Magnetometer.

Check this out.
Wind Direction Compass Combination.

@rob.fisk
A little test for you .
Why we have to Add Minus??
You may want to try Calibrate your Magnetometer.
Wave the watch about in a figure of 8 as hard as you can without putting your shoulder out of joint.

Why do we have to add a minus?

I have being doing tests so I can make a clear answer . Getting increasingly dyslexic with age it is bit confusing for me.
But Ithink it is like this.
Without the negative the pointer works like a guage indicating the angle from Zero ( 12 oclock )
However including the Minus allows the pointer to stay pointing North or South regardles of the position of the face.
All magic really.
I reallt struggled with that as I have no sensor on my watch.
But I am pleased to say the compass simulates nicely on my phone but needs Calibrating now and again.
Test test test when you can.
Good to have a little compass about as well.
