It is disrupting my design. Is there any way to turn this off?
Pay the one off Facer Plus fee , about 5GBP . Kills advertising for life . Enjoy .
I see never advertisements in the web based creator?
That is strange. I never see ads in creator when working on the PC.
I hope you have submitted a support ticket.
Are you sure itâs an ad from Facer?
I also get the full page facer add occasionally
thanks, I have paid that
I think it may be a firefox browser thing- maybe the latest update. I can never click in the cog wheel icon because the box goes away when I move it to get my design back. Today I got a chance to click it and saw this
Almost everything was checked by default. I unchecked the last two items, so I will watch to see if that stops the annoying ad box
Yes, it looks like a Mozilla component. Do you use a browser guard? However, I donât know if it would block something that is part of Firefox. Malwarebytes Browser Guard â Get this Extension for Firefox (en-US)
Thanks for that info, I will take a look at that!
Exept the massive, in app âPay Facer lots of money for Pro/Premiumâ. Itâs not no ads, just no 3rd party. Those, at least are fewer and easier to click away.
I donât like Chrome as a browser and Firefox is my default and generally quite good at not popping stuff up for me.
Chrome however, is my dedicated Facer browser just because the creator seems to run much more efficiently there than Firefox.
good to know, thanks
Try switching to AdGuardâs DNS servers. They stop all ads before they reach you:
94.140.14.14
94.140.15.15
Have you tried using Edge? Itâs rare that I have a problem with that.
Edge uses the same engine in the gubbins as Chrome so should be the same performance wise in Creator.
I think they both offer similar protections but none, even Adguard will be of any use if this is a Facer ad, since it is from the same source.
Correct. Edge is Chromium based. I use Edge exclusively but have never seen that ad. It appears to be part of Mozillaâs latest AI feature.
That is a very strange thing to say given that Mozilla doesnât have an AI venture in the the browser arena just now and have been against intrusive popups since before Chrome was born.
I looked at the image a little closer and saw this at the bottom of the popup:
This would indicate that it is part of a monetizing plugin that earns you points depending on the sites you visit (or something like that. I avoid them like the plague as I value my personal data)
Thanks for the info. Probably thatâs the case - most likely a plug-in. When I looked for it Mozilla mentioned their latest update and something about AI and points. Apparently it is something new that summarizes key âpointsâ on webpages. I donât remember the details.
I donât use Chrome and try to avoid using Firefox.
It looks as if the AI key âpointsâ generator is for iOS, though. You can research the rest. I do not have time.
