Any idea why after my GW6 updated to OS6 last night I can no longer preview any watch faces before purchasing? The purchase button only allows me to buy it now, I cant hold it to preview like I could before. Most of my past purchases are no longer compatible now so I need to buy some new ones.
I noticed the same problem. I’m surprised nobody else is talking about this…
Yeah, I sent in a support ticket but haven’t heard back yet. Can’t start throwing money out for faces if I can’t try them. Sucks that most of my favorites no longer work after the update.
Watch Faces that have been .AAB imported don’t have preview capabilities. These faces are newly available on your Watch 6 since the OneUI 8 update. Only faces that have been created in Facer Creator have preview capabilities. Only WFF compatible Faces will run on OneUI 8.
I can not find one single face on the app that will preview. Even the ones made by Facer studios. This does not seem right to me.
OK, I see what you mean. That’s new.

Sorry it took us a bit to get back to you, and thanks so much for waiting.
You are correct, Wear OS6 uses a different format for watch faces compared to the older Wear OS versions. This is related to changes that Google made to Wear OS since the release of Wear OS 5.
Unfortunately, this means that some of the features that are available for the old OS versions are not available on Wear OS6.
We are doing our best to bring over as many as possible; however, there are multiple new watch faces being published in our store that are specifically created for Wear OS 6.
Thank you so much for your patience and for your understanding.

So is she telling me that preview before you buy is not an option at all on OS6? Or does she not really understand my question? Can anyone else preview ANY faces on their OS6 GW?
I think she doesn’t understand the issue what so ever.
“Amber” may be a robot.
Hi there! Can you please share the ticket number here so we can take a closer look?
This is only one issue upgrading to WearOS6. I lost a ton of purchased watch faces that now say “not available”. If I disconnect the watch from my phone and toggle Galaxy Watch6 (non-wearOS 6) selection in the facer app for the type of watch, the send to phone button comes back to life so its like a built in blocker. Whats mind blowing is tons of old watch faces show as compatible but not recently purchased faces? What the heck!
@msimons
Most purchased watchfaces have touch point short cuts that are not compatible with WearOS 6 WFF only watches. I have premium watchfaces saved that I have made but I can’t use any of them on my 2024 GW 7 Ultra or my updated GW 6 Classic.
Losing access to many of my purchased faces was expected after everything I read before hand, although I was surprised at just how many were not compliant with the WFF format, so I pretty much lost all of my purchases also. I would think that any new releases on the Facer store would all be WFF format, but what I haven’t gotten a straight answer about is whether I should be able to preview faces at all. If I cant try it out IRL then I am not going to spend any money. If this is the case maybe they can do some work around to let you refund the face if you don’t like it, but I don’t see that as being very logical.
My question: Should I be able to preview any of the available WFF faces on the Facer app? because currently I cannot preview ANY face on the app. I don’t mind buying new faces, but I like to try them before I buy them.
I wish I would have known before upgrading. Frankly, wearOS6 feels like a step backwards. Lots of functionality lost.
- Can’t preview
- Lost tons of purchased watch faces
- Can’t change color theme from Facer app, only on phone which is slow and cumbersome
- Can’t seem to find where to set region settings anymore (like F or C for temperature). Have a face showing Celsius and there is no setting to be found to change to F
Extremely frustrated. Hopefully Google/Samsung/Facer can come up with some workarounds or solutions. If a previous watch face worked just fine as far as the consumer was concerned, why block them now?
I get these types of global changes in the name of security, but these are watch faces for god sake, not vulnerabilities.
Please review replies in your other topic. We are always glad to help but we prefer not to repeat what has been addressed before.
This time the excuse is battery life, they claim the WFF being more energy effective. Yes, in the way of turning off features, rather than optimizing their bloated OS.
