I have applied for Partner more than 1x

I have applied for Partner multiple times now throughout the years and the last 2x’s I have applied, I never gotten a response from no one whatsoever, before these 2x’s They would send a denied email but now not getting nothing. It’s so fricking hard to get Partner!!! What gives??? But they have NO PROBLEM bringing OUTSIDE people (that have never made a face here on Facer) for Partner. Ridiculous!

it’s frustrating, I remember the feeling well. But a couple of insights: the outside people who were brought in have always appeared to be strategic. For example when shaders first became available they brought in a couple of accomplished shader designers presumably to help develop and showcase the new tech. Then last year when WearOS became available re-opening a large market that had been shut out for more than a year, they seemed to make the move to bring in popular established playstore designers as a way to reintroduce Facer to that lost market. Probably a very smart move.

The other observation is, just because there are a bunch of qualified cooks hanging around the kitchen that doesn’t mean there is a room in the kitchen to add more cooks. If you add a new chef without expanding the restaurant then accordingly it must take the work from an existing chef. Hopefully that metaphor makes sense

My question is, why would you want to submit every design to Facer ahead of time for approval before it can be published? As a partner you can only publish the free faces on your own. All the others have to be approved and published by Facer at the time they want to do it.

I’m in this purely for the fun of it, if I wanted a job I would not have retired from where I was.

Maybe I’m not understanding your question, but the approval process can involve testing to be sure everything works. I’m not sure what you mean about the “on your own” free faces. I create them often. Facer has featured a few of them and includes them in collections. If that is not what you mean, please elaborate so I can answer better.

It just seems like a hassle to have to get someone’s approval first. As for the testing part, I do that myself on all my watch faces, I have an extra cellphone without cell service and an extra WFF only watch paired together just for testing use. I guess since I retired from working, I’ve become somewhat of a rebel and don’t like getting someone’s approval before I do something. Since I’m in my 70’s, I guess I’ve become one of those “cranky old men” they always joke about.

Ok, I see what you are saying. I’ve always considered premium approvals as a learning experience, but everybody is different.

I would gladly do it for the connected benefits, starting with the pro features for free
