Thank you @russellcresser . Coincidentally, I do have an Instinct 2 from Garmin - but learned its fall detection only works if during a sports activity, so went on checking the Galaxy watches.

BTW . We went to see a play at the MINACK Theatre ( Pirates of Penzance ) which is built into a Cliff on the Cornish Coast . My Fall detector went off twice while I was sitting quite happily enjoying the show . I have switched it off since .
Samsung didn’t have a choice in the matter. They are at the mercy of Google unfortunately.

EDIT: To confirm, I updated my W6C to Wear OS 5 (One UI 6.0) and Facer does indeed still work fine.

According to the statement from Facer, you can update a Watch 6 to Wear OS 5 and it will still be compatible with Facer. I’ve included the pertinent quote below. I have a Watch 6 Classic and will be updating soon and will confirm after update.
I can also confirm that my 5 Pro was updated yesterday and both Facer and Watchmaker works fine.
But nothing has been resolved when it comes to new watches? They still allow only the watchface format?
Facer planning to change creator to use that format instead?
Also: question for anyone with the Ultra. It has an usb port. Can it plug into a PC and that way connect to the Watchface Studio?
I have Ultra. I don’t see an USB port. Where did you see it??

My GW5 Pro and GW4 Classic are both now updated to WOS5 . All my WFS and Facer Creator stuff work Fine . So there are obviously Two WOS5 releases . I am certain they will be joined together soon . The last Facer Companion app must have been Dual OS ready apart from Tizen and RTOS . Otherwise we would all have to reset to use WOS5 . I did not . But having said that I had a Mysterious reset over a week ago now .

It’s been mentioned before that only watches that come with Wear OS 5 pre installed are affected. If you upgrade from Wear OS4 then the faces will still work. Though I expect they won’t if you factory reset.
Do you mean if you Reset an Out the Box Update ?
So, for a real world case: I got a GW6 with 4 out of the box and upgraded it before doing anything else. All good across the board, including Facer.
Still could not get it to ADB wireless pair so Factory Reset. All still good (apart from the pairing), including Facer.
If it comes out of the box with 4 it will always be good unless the rules change again. Pretty certain that will not happen as the backlash for breaking things that previously worked could result in class action for all of the people who paid for Facer faces under WearOs4

I have GW4 Classic and GW5 Pro . Both updated to WOS5 . I can sync Facer and WFS stuff fine . My GW5 did a factory reset un invited before the update . I am just a bit upset as I lost 69 as my IP Address .

Sorry for my outdated question, but is Facer already compatible with the Ultra version? If not, is there still a possibility or has it already been decided that it cannot be applied to the Ultra version?
By all accounts the Ultra is still not compatible . But Gw4 and up are Updated to WOS5 now so we are missing nothing . It will be sorted . But like the other updates there was no notice it just started happening . @mrantisocialguy is the man with a GW Ultra and the Brain to run it properly .
Reading above the Ultra and GW7 come with WearOs 5 OoB so Facer is currently incompatible.
Last read is that the Facer team are working hard towards a resolution but there is not yet a final conclusion as to whether this will be possible without a massive overhaul of how Facer works.
Unfortunately it’s not.
But there is always hope it will be solved some day
