Lock symbol on complication

I purchases the premium version and downloaded all the complications I wanted, noticed that the date was one day out so clicked to refresh and now there are yellow lock icons over all the sections of the face:
Over the time
Over the date
Over the Apple Music icon etc

I didn’t see that when you pay it’s only for a specific amount of time and have to re-subscribe?

Premium is kind of subscription, it has to be renewed periodically, or you loose access to the premium faces. Unless there is a price tag on a particular face, then it can be purchased directly and is not bound to premium.
