I’d looked at pocket watches as an add on for Temu free shipping for myself.
Neither were what I wanted and the first looses nearly 30s a day so my dad got the second for Christmas. Both refunded without return BTW.
One of the managers of the supported accommodation I am in is leaving soon and has been a solid, if grumpy uncle, rock supporting us all. So I wanted to give him something that fit into the rules of not costing me anything.
OK, he’s not retiring and it’s not gold, and yes it supports my hoarding addiction but…
An leftover lighter box, some foam from (haven’t a scooby) and leftover £1 veneer paper I got for the £20 shelving unit they bought me that I split to make my computer desk that allowed me back to Facer…
Nice presentation . Now that is a watch . I have seen this Harrison H4 and it would take a big pocket to put it in . Sadly nothing to give it scale . About 6 inches in Diameter .

It was one of the original Actual Memes that were things that started out normal but developed a life of their own. Rathar than today you just call something a ‘meme’ to make it ‘viral’ but this is no longer the case.
The entire internet is now the virus and ‘trending’ is just the latest viral payload.

I was fortunate to see the H4 No.1 at the Royal Observatory Greenwich ( UK ) . I was Surprised by the size . But other Clocks that were being tested at the same time to assist Global Navigation were enormous . Some of the Competitors were using Wood in their Prototypes . Not really much use in Tropical Oceans .
