I have just switched off auto install for updates on both my 6 Classic and 5 Pro watches. That way at least two of them will be 100% Facer usable and the Ultra is about 50% Facer usable.
@mrantisocialguy . I think it is worth a New Topic . I am a bit busy right now . Am I right in saying a Reset on the watch will automatically load WOS6 when the Watch model is Ready . Thus killing your Legacy option . I might even get another Legacy Watch . Get my GW4 Back of loan for Messing with .
The problem is that I think Samsungās aim is to have WFF be ubiquitous- it looks like you wonāt actually be able to use legacy faces/ theyāll be made unavailable soon:
Watch Face Format Ā |Ā Wear OS Ā |Ā Android Developers
Ones you have will probably be fine, but I donāt think youāll be able to sync ānewā non-WFF ones
Do you mean on Facer . My Feeling and understanding is that If I do not update My watch to WOS6 I will still be able to use my own face that is not WFF ready . That all the faces that have not been updated to WFF will still be Syncable to mine and other Legacy Watches . As Fase have Preserved the Faces for Tizen . I can not belive Facer will dump the 250000 faces they have being looked after Marvin .
@russellcresser & @roycaruso
My Samsung Ultra has updated to WearOS 6 and I can tell you, if you try to open up a legacy Facer watchface it will show in the phone app. It will also have the sync button greyed out with āNot Availableā written.
Time will tell - Iām sure Facer will still have them, but whether Samsung actually lets you sync/ download them is another thing. Facer will update over time so Iām not sure never updating your Samsung will work. A huge amount will be created or converted by then.
What is the point of using Facer to create faces for then? If the newer watches, GW7/Ultra/8, or even the 5/6ās when they get updated, they canāt use the faces created before this switch over. Like I said before, āSTUPID MOVE!!!ā And I donāt think that facer will be getting any more money from here on out.
Google and Samsung made the decision and Facer has adapted to it (quite well). The alternative was that Facer essentially doesnāt exist anymore if they didnāt switch to WFF when every major company is using itā¦I agree that itās frustrating that Google has forced the change, but thatās beyond Facerās control. You can also use any that are updated/ converted, which will be the majority.
Because such updates are not reversible and it is not 100% clear, what will happen after such update, whether the support for current features remains on such watches, like it remained after updating from WOS4 to WOS5, or it will cease.
I asked that earlier, but could not find reliable answer yet. I did not mean to spread panic, just rather be cautious than sorry.
Facer need to create a complications suite app similar to amoledwatchfaces. Then any unsupported facer tags can live on (maybe) - though i expect its more complicated!! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.weartools.weekdayutccomp
Yeah @jason.clarke.uk . That is a Goto Custom Comp Suite . We are so blessed that AMOLED has become a Facer Partner . Some may realise what that means .
Are ever going to be able to use Moon Phases again? I miss putting them in faces I create. Yes, I know I can still use it but not for WFF
In the compatibility list it has changed from not supported in WFF to Moonphase may not be accurate in this format.
Right, I seen this already, but will it every be working for wff
I sure hope so!
Iām doing Moon Phases in WFS, so you should be able to do it here.
There is a formula for moon phases made by the Giants before the Tags . It is based on #DNOW#
If you want it I will hunt down the Topic . There are several but there is one that Rivals the one the US Navy use .
.
Thanks to @p.hennessey
.
(((#DNOW#/2551442844-0.228535)+0.01765*sin(#DNOW#/378902233-1.828)+0.00583*sin(#DNOW#/5022682843-3.179)-0.00383*sin(#DNOW#/437445587-4.186)-0.00057*sin(#DNOW#/218722742-2.084))%1)
.
Gives 0 to 1 . You have to take it from there .
Look at the topic .
That is my understanding.
If you do update it is not clear to me that you will be able to use both WFF and legacy Facer faces. If it were me, and access to the features available with legacy faces was my priority, I would wait and see what others report before updating OS4 to OS6.
Also, support for non-WFF platforms is continuing: see Rosetta Stone
I and the other people I speak with are updating or releasing versions that are compatible with Tizen, OS4, OS6(WFF) and hopefully future operating systems. So, along with everyone else continuing to release compatible versions, there will still be plenty of new faces available for non-WFF operating systems based watches.
I personaly am amazed at what Facer is trying to do. They gave us the easiest Platform to use and the Most amazingly Friendly Community that is is also Educational on so many levels. There is no other platform tha hosts such resources. I donāt think many know the Mammoth Task Facer have taken on.
I am hoping to be in a position to test the new stuff soon . I am personaly wondering how many Faces have have been made on WFS and Imported.
