Thanks for reminding, but that suggests there would be 3 degrees of incompatibility,
Yet to me it seems those features either work or not, no matter whether the degradation is called minor or major.

Hmm I get what they’re saying though - if digital time works perfectly but just doesn’t show a leading zero, I’d count that as a minor degradation too. If the time didn’t show at all (like moon phase doesn’t at all), then that’s more major.

I am glad we have this summary and from the point of view “does it return at least something rather than collapsing” it makes sense to have this graduation at least for the faces that were published before. I understand for like leading zero is more or less design thing rather than functional, but there are more serious things rated in same category.
From a view of further use for future faces it is more black and white. Similar like when we were advised not to use any elements updating more often than in 15min for apple watches.
I mean, for example when the stopwatch is not working at all, it does not matter if it is called minor on apple and serious on wearOS6 the result is same.
Another example, the #DWE# is said “Time may not reflect point at which user woke the watch”, then what is the point? Having there some random value is not minor degradation, it just ruins the purpose of this tag.

@roycaruso. As a a Partner can you tell us if Shaders can be used on a WFF Face. I can go and check for myself to see if I could use them as a PRO.
I am glad to see #DNOW# has no been depricatedc. At least we can go back an do Moon phase stuff with the Giants Formulas from 3 years ago. By all accounts it us still more accurate than #MOONAGEPERCENT#.

I think a lot of the new toys (shaders, sounds) aren’t available on WFF after looking through all the docs.

Yes Indeed. I am looking forward to seeing if #VAR_1_TE#. ir would be a serious Coup to have made a WFF. I do not hold much hope. 
We will all be hunting through the Giant’s topics from 2017 to find out how to do stuff. I Love the pre progress bar solutions. Real clever stuff.
According to that list, the new WFF format can’t do anything at all. Back to monkeys and trees. Watches from aliexpress or Temu will be able to do more than WearOS with the WFF format.

Luckily I’ve stayed pretty old school and a lot of the coding still works fine. All things considered, apart from VAR being gone, nearly everything else can be worked around (or at least isn’t essential). It was a huge job and I’m impressed with how Facer has handled it so far. It will only continue to improve.

Thanks for that . Yes a lot of us Love and admire Facer for what they have achieved . But reserve the right to Bitch a bit . Sometimes it is a little frustrating . I started with a ZX81 and never really got beyond BASIC . But they keep changing stuff just as I am starting to get the hang of it . I was classed as a slow learner as a Kid . As an Old Git I am a Slower Learner .

Lige make Fantastic watches with over a weeks battery life for about ÂŁ50 . Most of what you expect on them but only a selection of about 200 Faces and that is it . No one is making third party faces for them . If you are a Creative and you want to make your own faces and share them across the Planet this is the place to be for sure .

I don’t know about Liga, I haven’t heard of it at all. At least not for me, I have the entire ecosystem from Samsung.
For me it’s easy, if I continue to create watch faces, then it will only be for watches with WearOS 5 without WFF. As I’ve done mostly until now, I created watch faces for the watches I personally have on my hand, the others if it worked fine, if not I didn’t solve it.
You mentioned several times that you won’t update your 5PRO to WOS6. Why? How will there be a difference or what will not work against WOS5?

If I let my GW5 Pro update to WOS6 / WFF my personal face will not work at all . Have a look . 155 WFF issues .

That’s probably not going to work for most of my watch faces. If not all of them.

It will work on a TIZEN . Anything up to WOS6 but not including .
So I shouldn’t update my GW5 Pro from wos5 to wos6 either.
Now I’ve started using a watch face based on a timex watch, where one hand can show 3 functions after switching using war. So I’ll probably give up on it and wait for what comes next. It probably doesn’t make sense.

If you are enjoying using VAR even for your own use DO NOT Update . See the link to the Deprecated Tags list above . If you RESET you watch it will load WOS6 by default . So Prepare yourself . First thing to do is switch of the Auto Update . I have just uninstalled everything else from my GW5. it is going like a Rocket.
