So here I am again, asking for criticism, comments and advice on what to change, how to do differently and the like.
I thought of the stupidity of making a hand dial in the style of old digitals.
I am also asking for an opinion on how to use the day of the week indicator view. What do you think?
Hi @ekky.mi
In most of my work, I think, how could this be built without a smartwatch. So either the whole screen is old school LCD, or if the hands are to be mechanical, then they should be placed on a something other than on an LCD.
Here an example of old school LCD type watch. I also add a shadow to all components to give it that old school 3D look. Also when the battery is low some components “fade”.
And here an example, where the hands are not digital:
I’m a beginner, it’s going to take a fucking long time to get to your level… if I stick with it. Your work is perfect and I admire some of the looks.
I remembered my childhood when Casio digitals were sizzling and also that I had the same style but really with hands. So I tried, it shouldn’t have been anything difficult, I was too lazy to work with the graphic editor, but I still had to open a few elements. Then I realized that I had run into a lot of layers.
May I ask your opinion on which day of the week variant to use?
I am aware that it can be a problem for some, I have tried different sizes. It really doesn’t fit any smaller and the bigger one is like a fist in the eye.
Well done, I believe it all works nicely together, although I personally don’t like the Font, and it could all be a little larger too…just my honest opinion though, it’s your Creation at the end of the day
As per my preference for the Day Guage; I prefer with the Triangle Pointer but…maybe a slight colour Tint to it, or enlarge it a bit
Nice to see a good AOD included, good work
I have heard your comments and taken them into consideration. And I’m working on plastic surgery.
Just a small preview of the direction I’m heading. It’s broken, not done!
Yeah nice . Good bit of depth coming on your non LCD Parts . Get a shadows on the Hands . Most do not use the Canned Shadow then you can make it your own level of shadow . I am not being picky but if you have some control over the lighting angle of the bits you are making try make it consistent . I set my lighting like your LCDs at 315 degrees as that is the default of my CAD Rendering and Facer .
This is Something I am making on WFS . I think LCD could work with Gold / Yellow or Gun Metal / Blue . my LCD Background is not that green . My Camera makes it’s own mind up about some Colours .
