I’m guessing the application is to bring yourself to their attention. They only have us partners to make recommendations, and looking at faces themselves. It’s kind of like a job interview you get to apply for every month.
It still doesn’t sound like invitation only to me. You apply, and they may or may not accept your application. Invitation only means there’s no application, they just ask you if you want to be a partner. When I apply for a job, is the job invitation only?
I’m not telling you why they did it this way, just telling you how it works. (as far as I know)
I feel like having you submit an application adds an additional element to the process. It puts the question back on you. “Do I really think I’m good enough to be a partner?” This may (at least for a while) weed out any less-than-serious applicants. I’m just guessing here.
It might make some work a bit harder to improve their body of work prior to applying as well. Who knows. But I can only say, make good stuff, make it on a regular basis, be active in the community and keep applying. Good luck everyone!
It’s just semantics. Rator explained it well. You apply. You may or may not receive an invitation to be part of the program. It’s like a job that you apply for. You apply. You may or may not receive an invitation to become employed. Seems like the same thing to me.
Well, I applied last month and never got an answer back. The 1st time I tried this I got email back about being denied but nothing whatsoever from last month
If you applied only last month there probably has been no decision yet. Last month we had several holidays when staff might have been limited.
I’ve applied every single month since this Partner Program started and haven’t received a single response yet—no feedback, no status updates, not even a rejection. It would be helpful to at least get a confirmation.
