Partner Program vs Other ways

I have a question about the Facer Partner Program. Googie A.I. says there are other ways to publish your artwork outside of the Partner Program, would this be a conflict with Facer if you start selling your faces outside of the Partner Program, then get accepted, but already have the same faces for sell elsewhere?

Thnx

 That’s a good question to ask. I sure would like to know what one also!!

@o0odeweyo0o Where and how are these faces being sold . I know there is a |Subculture of By Me a Coffee . Facer frown upon that but Seem to do not much . As far as I know there is no APK so they can not be stolen and side loaded . There are other platforms where you can become a seller easier than Facer . Facer has a very large User Base so it is a good place to find out what is popular .

There is an APK, even for Facer Creator created faces. I can pull the APK off my watch with ADB. It’s the only way I’ve found to be able to have more than one Facer Watch Face on my watch at the same time.

I was thinking of just Showcasing them on my Private Webpage. I hadn’t thought too far into the future about it. ā€˜Buy Me A Coffee’ sounds like a great idea! I just don’t want to start selling and then get approved to the Partner Program and then lose access because of ā€œcross-sellingā€, or something. Thanks for the input!

Definitely going to look into this further!! TYVM! :mechanical_arm:

See . I know very little about stuff at that level . So those APK files could be sold and sideloaded with a Web App . You talking about faces made in Creator not WFS or Android Studio .

As far as I know there is no problem with cross-selling in approved stores but it would be advisable to include that in your application. I think you have to be careful asking for any type of compensation because that is a form of solicitation. Solicitation is mentioned in the TOS. Partners would probably have to ask permission to use the coffee thing. I know of no partners who use that, so it may be a hint that it is frowned upon. You many, on your profile ask for donations for a charity, etc… You may not add your own prices to design titles.

I’m definitely confused then. I’ve paid for Facer Premium since my first day owning my watch, because I didn’t want to keep buying faces individually… I assumed as a Creator on the Partnership Program I would be setting my own prices and selling. I’m going to go back through Partnership Solicitation dox. thanks

EDIT: OK… i think i get it now. I’m feeling the best way to go about this now is… Start OFF creating with WFS and put some stuff up on G-Store… see if ANY of those do good… THEN, if they seem to be catching on apply for Partnership and get monthly residuals.

Your G-Store idea sounds like a good plan.
As to the prices, Facer sets the prices of premium (paid) watch faces on the app and website. There was an incident a while back when somebody added a self-created price to some designs. That was a violation, so I included that as a caveat to your question about ā€œother waysā€.

As Premium I don’t see any prices at all anymore, but I do remember there being different prices for different faces… Are the differences in prices determined by FACER or does the Creator have a say as to it being, like… ULTRA Premium or Regular Premium or anything like that?

Facer determines the prices. Premium designs are reviewed by Facer before they are published.

I dont know the rules for becoming a partner - but it is by Facer invitation but i do know that monetising watchfaces is also not easy either- perhaps someone will explain.

default face price is 1.99 if it has ANY premium features. the only other price I’ve ever seen is 99c which I think is a face that has been published as premium-only but that has no actual premium functions (themes, app launchers, etc…) I’m not aware of any other pricing outside of bundles/collections where it’s like a bulk discount.

As it has been awhile since I created my account for Google Play, some things may have changed. Starting on Google Play you will need to create an account if you don’t already have one and pay a one time fee. You will go through a verification process before you can publish anything from your console. If it’s a new account you will need 20 or more testers to test your designs for a week. Most give up because of this. If you have an older console, then you’ve bypassed the testers, which is good. Also publishing to the store is not easy if it is your first time. We are here to help if you need us. Goodluck and let us know how it goes… :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m sorry to say this, but you are worrying way too much! It is a long, long journey to become a Facer Partner. It’s strictly invitation-based. Even if you hit 5k syncs and have success on other platforms, you could apply every month and still not get a single response! Lol. Besides all the usual tips, I think the most important thing is actually luck ! : )

Why is there an application if its strictly invitation only? This makes no sense. It was invitation only, but now its not, is my understanding.
