I have lately been making watch faces for Apple Watch and recently I have received comments on two of my designs saying that the time is behind and that the user has to tap on the watch before the time updates. I don’t know what to tell them on how to fix it, so I need some help from designers who have an Apple Watch and have experienced this same problem. Also, I believe that @Facer_Official should get involved with this. Here are the designs that are reportedly not functioning properly: (The reported issue with the first design is commented in the second watch face.)
Are you using presets for the digital time or making your own? It’s hard to tell without inspection being open.
The clocks on both displays are preset, and the digital time was added to the design.
I’m guessing that only the presets work properly sorry, it seems everything I ever added never functioned properly
Hi @ryanpaul28 and the usual suspects.
I am so sorry to say that the Digital Minutes on your face will not update themselves by the minute.
You should have got a warning on Publication .
Nothing that requires the data updating less than 15 minutes will be correct all the time. It is good that the mins can be updated with some interaction .
I believe there is no Intention to FIX this as it is part of Apples Power Saving Strategy.
Your are Fortunate to get some user Feedback .
So the good news is everything else on your Nice Face will work perfectly.
It’s kind of hard to work in a vacuum without all the information you really need. I blame @Facer_Official for not informing us. Or at least putting a link in the Apple watch creator that we could follow for current Apple Watch design information.
Not one of the people trying to do the Apple stuff is Stupid .
Most have cut their Teeth on the " Other Watches " .
I think Facer could have come up with a page in the documents to sum up the Pitfalls of the Platform .
I suppose the did not want to admit there are Short Comings.
I still have no Clue about the Pre-Sets. If you used a load of those you would just end up with something a User could create for themselves if they felt inclined.
Anyway Just Saying .
That is me off the Facer Nice List .
You know the slogan “The largest watch face platform for Apple Watch, WearOS, and Tizen” raises high expectations, in term that there is only common page where to find and create faces, but they live both in different worlds. The tool might be the same, but the products are not common for all the watches, Apple has separate, customized, but not fully interactive/functional faces.
After making that popular mistake, I never put custom time elements in apple faces ever since.
I can not Remember where I read it but one of the messages said.
We ask you to conciderd theses restrictions so your Apple Watch Face does not look BROKEN.
So it is down to you guys get a Grip.
Hello, @russellcresser, I did notice the small text at the top left corner in the Creator when I was designing these watches, but thought nothing of it. I guess now I will have to take out the custom digital time. Thanks for your help.
Ha Ha .
That was not there when I was Playing .
I would have ignored it as well .
By all accounts if you Tap the Display of the Apple Watch the time Updates .
Do not take them down if they are not upsetting you .
Nice to have a Hybrid in there.
Sorry I can not preview your Apple Faces at the moment but I guess what they look like.
You cannot do a hybrid because Apple’s analog and your digital will not be the same. It is not fair to Facer to publish non-working designs. If there is a feature that does not work, it is the designer’s responsibility to either fix it or remove it.
Alberto is inocent, that was my fault I mentioned earlier .
Ha Ha . Did they notify you that they were going to use those as illustration . They have a Beautiful Wrist Shot in there with your nice Jumper in as well . You should get Appearance money.
I don’t mind if it served good purpose. At least it seems the documentation was a bit improved.
I tried to improve that face, but wont publish it again. The wrist shot is so clear that I can now see the misalignment of the ghost font in most places cant be predicted/corrected without multiple try outs on watch.
I would not mind betting you got no one saying . Hey Mate your LEDs that are unlit are Misaligned. I love the watch myself . The Scheme is good and the Contradiction is Perfect.
