Sea Glass! Frosted effect

A new Glass and Sea Glass filter is available on FaceStudio, allowing you to create this frosted effect. Love to know what you think?

Looks good - but not for my eyes, maybe with markers and hands on top

I can appreciate that, the effect I was going for was to make it look like the crystal is frosted

This looks great and would be well suited for AOD mode on some designs.

Looks nice, but this is basically a blur/transparency effect that takes seconds to make in Photoshop or free Photopea.

Handy to have it built in, sure, but if everyone starts using the same effects it gets old very quickly. Better to stay close to your own creativity and style. Anyone can work from ready made templates

I agree, but, not everyone has Photoshop or similar. (I use inkscape) so I think it’s a useful utility. If it’s a decent preset why not?

Will you have your own Marvin, or, will you moderate the app yourself? So that we don’t have a multitude of Mickey Mouses and Rolex’s or, @russellcresser 's favourite (mine too) - no effort watchfaces!

I don’t have a problem with the utility itself, and I can see why it’s useful. My concern is more where this is heading. It’s becoming incredibly easy to vibe code another tool, preset pack or template system, and before long we could have dozens of them doing roughly the same thing.

That usually leads to more sameness, not more creativity. Just look at YouTube, where around 40% of the content is now said to be AI generated slop. I’d hate to see the same thing happen here.

For me, tools should support individual ideas and skills, not gradually replace them. Creativity should stay the main part of the process.

Quality over quantity is the goal.
The tools will make creating a smoother process hopefully with better quality results, there is no ai creation there, the creativity remains with the human designer.
All the tools are fully customisable, so you can get incredibly varied results.

At the moment I will have to moderate, but if it does get used/abused then that will change.
The goal is the creation of quality assets to get better faces.
There is now a Showcase where registered users can post Facer watches they have used FaceStudio assets on - if those designs are not up to standard on there they will be removed from view.
