Many months ago, I created a digital BATTLESTAR GALACTICA design and I had to play around with the tags/expressions to make it do what I wanted. Most of it I learned from this forum. I decided to share with all those that are interested. I have opened the design up for inspection so that you can see what tags I have used and where. It is all very simple actually. Let me know if this helps.
The main tags are getting an object to rotate around the edge clockwise & counter-clockwise. These are the expressions:
A. ANTICLOCKWISE: X= ((sin((-(-(#DWFSS#))+180)/(180/3.14159))*135)+160)
Y= ((cos((-(-(#DWFSS#))+180)/(180/3.14159))*135)+160)
B. CLOCKWISE: X= ((sin((-#DWFSS#+180)/(180/3.14159))*135)+160)
Y= ((cos((-#DWFSS#+180)/(180/3.14159))*135)+160)
Firstly BSG. I grew up with the original.
Secondly, animation by maths and not bulk. Efficiency by simplicity, no matter how complex that simplicity, and in this case not very, and nice on the explanation behind.
I would say that your AOD (DIM) screen should maybe be a green wireframe schematic of the galactica with large numbers for easy contrast and low battery use but love the on screen. A bit busy at first. I was looking for hour and minute in the other movements but meh, BSG!!!
