I like the design generally but I would only use sans-serif fonts, in my opinion they look better.
Did you try "Wednesday September 88’ to see if it fits the space available and still looks ok?

Nunito Bold is my favourite Font, one of the ready to use ones.

i think it looks great! I wouldn’t change much except I agree with the san-serif font suggestion. They are cleaner, easier to read, and more stylistically compatible with almost any digital design. Since the seconds count will be static in dim mode you might want to hide it in dim. Otherwise you’ve got two static numbers there of the same font/size which could be slightly awkward Also test a wednesday in november date to be sure a longer date fits that space.

Nice timepiece
I agree with the fot and the remark about the AOD mode.
In my opinion your fonts should be a bit bigger (12 for the power indicator is too small)
Also add some shade and depth in your design
