The end of spring forward fall back

I just read an article that said that in the EU by 2027 countries will have to decide whether to change clocks twice a year and i just wondered how it might affect our watches? In typical EU style it will be up to each individual country to decide - automatic roaming?

Here in England, United Kingdom, we already change the clocks twice a year, Summer and Winter: an hour forward then an hour back. Be nice to just to change it a half hour next time and then never bother again :joy: My Galaxy Watch always updates automatically for the difference and I only ever use Facer Faces.

P.S. No matter what Face I use, I always end up using this one :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

US does that as well: “Spring Ahead” and “Fall Behind”. My watch updates automatically as other devices and newer cars do.

I always thought the watch’s time gets synchronized by the phone. Isn’t that true?

I think they work together on that.

There is some of that in the US. Arizona does not do DST but stays on Mountain Standard Time (MST, UTC-7) all year. Except…tribal lands which do follow US DST changes.

and Newfoundland is a time zone that’s half an hour off rather than a full hour.

There are parts of Australia that are half hour off and one that is 45 minutes off.
