Tried a different approach

Hello again. I thought, i gather some opinions about this face. This time, i used some data to present here. As always, all graphic design was made in Blender , except the gradient second, that one via Inkscape, which i love too.

The background turns green at PM, black at AM.

Greetings

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Through the years, many of us have compared notes on graphic design software and techniques. A while back in an effort to help I asked someone about her image creation process. She became quite abrasive. As we have said before, the regulars in this community have always been glad to help and share. That’s what makes a community great.

Thank you! Sharing makes the world better and faces. Graphic design i love so much. Blender opened another world to me. And i have only covered perhaps 10 % of Blender that grows exponentially and am glad to help anyone who needs me. I just need … time.

Love this one, really really great work!!

I like it - much more my style. I like especially the weather icons. If I have any criticism it would be that the hands don’t contrast with the background enough- a shade of orange perhaps, with your fancy shading would suit me just fine!

Lovely comments for so much appreciation from my fellow face makers. I will experiment with some dual colored shading in my next face. Enjoy your time.

One of the positive features of communities is the help that can be shared with members new and old. We pay it forward, so to speak. One of the negatives is how things can be misinterpreted. If there is any question about my reference to graphics sources and people involved it was regarding a Halloween image that was sent to me by a Yahoo graphics sharing group years ago. Does anyone remember Yahoo groups? It is not necessary that I give details here. Let’s not spoil a nice discussion with off-topic comments. Apologies to the OP, pbervoets, who created a beautiful design. I look forward to your next one with the dual colored shading.

For me, i imean just make the hands a suitable shade of orange as in my opinion green hands on a green background is a problem

I wanted to say thank you for your post and showing your design. Did it take you long to learn blender? What was the hardest part? I myself am very interested. You’ve got me wanting to learn something new. I really appreciate that. Your design looks awesome by the way.

Hello! Thank you for asking and your nice comment. Well the learning process never ends, as long as we live. Life is school, still wondering how to graduate … but Blender opened my creativity in ways i could not imagine. Sure Facer is needed to put it all together and formulas and tags are splendid also for animation and surely for more static faces. But if you like movement in 3d, with light, shadows, camera views changing, all captured in exported PNG images created in Blender, well for me Blender is the gateway and limitations are few. And that i love. No limitations, except perhaps one does oneself.

Back to Blender, the hardest part? I think it was the beginning. This entering a new world where you need to learn and especially when you Blender, wow, it is overwhelming. One can see too much… But i know some tricks to make it go slower. You know, if the problem is too big, slice it. And this what i did. For example, i started by defining for myself, what do i want to do with it, what do i need. And then, i saw, wow, i can do more and more. The more you learn, the more creative one becomes. I now imagine something, can i do that, and yes, you can.

So, i you want i can help you on your way and it will be your way. Find me via a private message and we set up a TEAM meeting so i can share my screen and show you and to make you start this journey. I am glad to help.

Just to visualize what Blender offers here is another face. Everything you see - except the numbers for hour min - all that is made in Blender. Including the movements, material, the shaping of the objects, camera view point, lightning…

Enjoy.

Well done @kallyjeen41 and @pbervoets . you got a nice Vibe going there . Sadly I have spent far too long on Rhino4/5 to want to learn anything else and it shows , I know . It is good to see the true spirit of the community at work . Leave the Politics to our World Leaders who are doing a splendid job of that at the moment .

Omg, I’m so excited. Thank you so much! I had watched some tutorials and did a couple of designs. I think I did ok, but tutorials use a lot of the short keys that Im not familiar with. I know, anything new will take time. I will message you this weekend when I am off work, thank you again.

It will be great. Let us exchange some Blender experiences and yes short keys can be a lot to take in. Tutorials well chosen are a great help in any case. Text me upfront when a TEAM meeting can take place for you so we can get this going.

Till later.
