I know that WearOS 6 introduces all sorts of restrictions by Google, but did not expect that triple tap on a Facer face will stop working.
My Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic updated (even though auto update was off).
I struggled to get Facer working on the watch after the update (companion app was installed, but Facer was not selectable as a watch face.
In the end I had to uninstall & re-install the Facer companion app on the watch as well as the Facer Android app on my Samsung phone to get it working.
Facer is working now, although the current active face shown in the Facer Android app is out of sync with that on the watch.
The bigger frustration is that I need to sync a new face from my phone every time I want to change the Facer face.
Triple tap on the watch face does nothing on any of my Facer faces.
The faces I have tried are all my own design with only basic elements and tags used. I even tried to re-publish some with the WFF box checked, but no luck.
Is this a known issue?
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?
Yes, it’s all a common issue at the moment. You will find that Facer on WFF only watches and acts just like a WFF face from Google Play. But at least you don’t have to have a different phone app for each watchface, just the Facer app. I have a webpage that has all my watchfaces on, including the private ones. I have the Chrome web browser app on my phone set up to automatically open Facer links in the Facer app. That way I can go to my webpage click the link, it opens in Facer and I click the sync button. Lots easier that way.
Bless . While you were out the room . They moved the Goal Posts . We are all struggling to see what we can make of it . Yes we can only have one third party face despite the theory they are the same as those on the Google Store . I think they lost so much of the market when they went WOS6 . The WFS form is saying they are getting no sales on the Store . Any way an Artist can make Art with a restrictive Palet .
as I wrote in another thread. I suspect that all this shit and problems are not only Google’s fault but mainly Facer’s.
My watch was updated. I had a premium watch face designed only for WearOS 5, so I had functions like VAR, compass, phone battery and the like. It was this watch face.
after the update, the watch face worked exactly the same as on WoS 5, all its functions worked and showed as designed. But unfortunately only until I started messing around in the Facer application on my phone. At that moment, the watch face crashed, and as it says above, I had to update both Facer applications. I believe that if I didn’t go into them and didn’t need to investigate, the watch face would still work for me even though it’s not supported yet. And as I wrote, it’s time for Facer to take a break and come back in maybe 2 years, maybe something will change, but I doubt it.
I have the exact same issues mentioned by @mountain_lion unfortunately. Fingers crossed they can be resolved over time. Facer is navigating the restrictions, update requirements and issues imposed by Google @ekky.mi.
