The name is also the title of a great tune by Woody Shaw. It’s somewhat of a thing in the jazz world to do a play on words with the spelling “Trane” for John Coltrane. It seemed to me a fitting name for this watch face design which puts the spot light on the moon wheel.
As I wrote in the description, my intent was to create a digital equivalent of a hand made art-piece kind of watch. A lot of independent watch makers become masters of metal working and engraving as part of their total craft. I tried to “finish” and detail the components here as I imagined one of these masters might.
I’ve published the lighter slate version, coming up is the darker version with silver hands.
