Hi. Main thing is, that you like it. I like classic watches, but not all classic features can be transferred well on smart watch display.
classics do have fine details on the dial, but here they are extremely small to read on monitor, I guess that is even harder on watch display. The date could be easily bigger without breaking classic balance (where is not 4th subdial, there is lot of free space for it and even for some logo or label).

what kind of logo or label would I put? is it common practice to put some random company’s logo on my smart watch? should the logo be of the type of watch I got inspiration from? would it be “my logo” (as in a logo I would create in photoshop or smthn and put on all my watches)? sorry im new to this

Welcome to the group… @yonasean
I congratulate you on your design … very interesting and classic !!!
I also agree with the opinion of @petruuccios … There are many details that must be taken into account with the measurements of the information …

And with regard to the logo, I recommend that you design your own logo, which is the one that will identify your work and design styles …
With the issue of copies and others you have to take into account the issue of copyright.
Here I give you some information from facer.io. Very interesting that it will help you with many of your questions …

I was just pointing out that the right side of the dial has plenty of unused area where bigger date window would easily fit along with some kind of identity, like the name of the face and/or of the creator. Or some funny detail like for example “water resistant 1000mm for 1/2h”
You do not necessary need a logo, but it is a cute way of signature.

Hello, this is your first design? very nicely done. I have already read that your attention was drawn to reconsider the size of the date. The design could look more harmonious if the date is visually the same size as the number segments of the time. And if I see it correctly, you used a brownish shade as the border. Just think about whether it might be better to use shades that are already used in other elements, because that way it could possibly be perceived as “foreign body” disturbing. Or a delicate, narrow border like the small caps of your font. Or else: a 3D deepening, so that it looks like the area is punched out. One more small point: notice the distances between your 3 inner segments (date …) and their distances to the border. Experiment and see if a general minimal reduction could possibly bring advantages. And one more small point to try: try to change the color of these elements minimally. Try “lighter or darker” , “more or less color saturation” or even a slight shift in the color spectrum. These are just a few ideas. But again, very nice, extremely classic
Many greetings
Ralf

Hi, I like the overall look and you did well with the classic part of it. Is there a way you can change the transparency of the objects covering your numbers? It might be a little smoother looking. Good job on being your first design. :+1:

Maybe make your Logo and writing under it a little larger
Still a good design, I congratulate you once more
