Welcome Our New Facer Creator Partners

I guess you have to do your time, maybe in 2 to 3 years you’d get noticed.

Me, I’m a pragmatist - I will never be a partner and I have no intention to try. I’m just happy to be amongst other users who share the same interest

I’ve already been here for almost 3 years. So, I don’t think it has nothing to with how long someone has been here

Time in doesn’t apply as far as I know.

I don’t know what to say other than be patient and remember what Facer said: “While not everyone will be accepted immediately”. It could mean that more people will be hired in the next round.

Well, i am wondering if this discussion about being a partner could be killed if everyone becomes a partner. Meaning, everyone can sell and eveyone can win. A win win situation. Those are popular elsewhere, not? This artificially seperation with cloudy conditions and appliance in mysterious clouds of Facer, can be killed immediately, as is for the frustations of some or many who might even stop because of that. If money making is your target, dear Facer, why not open that for everybody. Let the customers decide which and each Face, is worth their money. If people are not satisfied with their acquisition, money goes back. Everybody happy. Should that not be the real goal and perhaps Facer will make more money doing that, more investment, more quality, better software and so on. And perhaps some face makers will still offer them for free, like i did for more than 2.000 faces. Perhaps the real partner for Facer lovers, is more likely that kind of partner you want to be.

Why is Facer successful then? No, they have a good financial model. Facer cornered the free market and provided a path forwards to become a partner. You want to remove adds? You pay. You want additional functions or services? You pay. This is a normal business model - you only have to look at YouTube or Netflix or any online newspaper to see that this is the norm.

I also believe that Facer has to maintain standards so allowing all and everyone to sell their watchfaces would most definitely lower standards (I would be a good example of this).

Just out of interest all Partners who sell their watchfaces faces declare income and pay tax - right? I hate to say this but I actually think that Marvin does a good job.

Why not put your trust in the customer and respect them. That is the most basic principle of a free market that includes free choice, choice to buy and choice to sell. All the rest is manipulation for me. If the customer likes to pay for a bad made face to some, why not let them. Who is going to tell what is a bad or good or excellent face. Who is going to define beauty in fact. There is no need to educate customers, tell them when to pay, nor to determine who can sell. Why not try it at least and evaluate later. Not questioning, adapting, surveying the base of this business, is digging your grave in the end. It is about more, not less and a true free market.

In this Business there are many Shops . Puji , Watchmaker , TimeShow , TIMEFLIK , and many more . I am qiite certain thay all require you to sign a contract and pay the appropriate costs and Taxes on your sales . These Companys are not Head Hunting ( much ) as there is a glut of Makers of every scale and type of talent . Many are taking on new sellers . Many are looking for makers who can make faces for the new WFF . It is all a bit ip in the Air right now . Facer nor any of the other Platforms are giong to Invite everybody to sell on their platforms .

I dont agree - if you allow everyone to sell, the standard will drop as those who are excellent ‘designers’ will find their work swamped by those who produce ‘no effort’ watchfaces and as you intimate ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.Using my self as an example- I am impressed by your watchfaces and your work but I wouldn’t wear one. If you look at the charts in my opinion many of the free faces are better than most. It’s all about maintaining good quality watchfaces. There are many persons who I believe should be partners (including yourself) but Facer chooses who they want .

We all know that becoming a Facer Partner Designer isn’t easy — the selection process is really tough. There are so many talented designers who’ve been creating amazing watch faces for years, but not everyone gets the chance yet — and that doesn’t mean their work isn’t good enough.

If I were the one running the platform, I’d also look at many aspects — not just visuals, but consistency, originality, personal style, and how strong the designer’s brand identity shows through each design. Because I’d want users who bring potential revenue to keep coming back to my platform, not just visit once, browse around, and leave because it feels like a random gallery.

So for anyone who’s still a Free Designer, don’t lose motivation. This is actually the best time to keep building your brand design identity.

I started as a free designer on Facer a few years ago too. Many of my early works were simple, but through time — and with support from this community — I learned and grew. That process eventually brought me to where I am now.

Maybe my opinion doesn’t represent everyone, but at least that’s how I see it from my perspective.

The paid to free ratio seems right to me.
