Yeah but if you sideload something from Russia you might be asking for trouble . ![]()
Thank you @ed.ludwig and @mrantisocialguy . We got an EDU going . Also if someone sends you a .wfs file and append .ZIP to it that actually unpacks it and you can pull all the resources out the back . Great for sharing the whole Project with you COLAB Buddy.
Ahh, so that is how it is done. Thanks for that bit of info!
Why donāt you use Creator?
For me Creator isnt quite there yet for WFF as far as some of the things you can do with complications, masking, style customizations, themes, and bitmap fonts, but I have all the confidence what it will get there eventually. I have written a couple of tickets regarding this and they are looking into it. As it stands right now, I am making my faces for Facer all in Facer Creator as I find my imported faces have not been nearly as impactful. Not saying there is a reason for this, I am just saying I have had more success working within Facer.
I find WFS a little more advanced. I like being able to choose my own color themes. Also the user can choose what complications they want for their shortcuts. I canāt leave out masking, color dropper, grouping, color coding of elements⦠probably some more that I canāt think if right now.
Those still using the older versions of OS and Tizen may have you reaching more users.
Can I add to your list . Boolean Masking , True Dynamic Grouping . Gyro Joystick on IDE . If not already mentioned Curved Text . Some degree of Ranged Data transferred from Apps . For example AMOLED Phone Battery . I have stopped comparing them .
I just open them directly in 7-Zip.
I started with WFS 2 years ago. I dont see a reason to learn dev tool that can only be used on Facer. If I create watch faces with WFS, they can be used anywhere. Its universal.
Could we bring Faces made on WFS to WATCHMAKER ?
Thereās an import .aab just like Facer
Not yet, I over looked that part. It said coming soon.
Right, coming soon.
What is āanywhereā? Do you mean Facerās competitors?
Thanks for the info. I tried WFS a while back but was not impressed. Maybe it has been updated lately.
I guess you could call them Facer competitors. There are plenty of designers already publishing on multiple platforms. Is this an issue for you?
Itās funny you werenāt impressed with WFS, I feel the same way about Facer Creator. I was not impressed at all. Iāve tried to get used to it, but itās super unintuitive, and seems to be missing a lot of stuff I use all the time in WFS. WFS just makes sense to me. Maybe because Iām an actual software dev, and Iāve been using IDEs since the 80s.
Watchmaker doesnāt have an AAB import at this time.
Thank You . There seem to be some uncertainty .
Cant wait until Facer bring more WFF/WFS features such as:
- Image styles - could maybe be achieved using the element type similar to weather icon, allowing up to 10 images to be added. For legacy support, Facer could allow the user to lock a VAR # to the object. E.g VAR1 with values 0 to 9 is used to select items. Only used image slots would be selectable.
- Curved text support
- Three theme colour pallets supported like in WFS (WFS enables you to add up to 30 theme colors to a project)
- Support for different Complication layouts as available in WFS and more configuration settings such as rounded ends etc.
- Bitmap fonts
Theres an awful lot of functionality available in WFS and its going to take time (unless Facer can utilise AI to do the legwork of coding)
My most eagerly awaited feature is image styles support.
