WiKi . List of Banned Words likely to get a published face Taken Down

Got his past Marvin . On a Fossil Gen6 . I could be taken down at a later stage from a visual inspection . Are you sure @jason.clarke.uk that you did not mention Fossil in words .
.
.

No mention of Fossil in the description. But marvin would assess the preview image and match on the Fossil text generated by the ZMANU tag

Do they make a Face that looks like that . See my test Says Fossil on the Web Page . Obviously on the Apps it says Samsung which is what I wear . Sadly the test face does not look like yours .

I assume they’re using optical character recognition to detect the Fossil name in the face image?

There’s possibly also the “illuminator” name, which interestingly is a Casio term.

They probably tweaked the algorithm by now. The issue occurred back in May, and i did report it as shown in the image. Anyway…i just dont use fossil bands any longer and always keep a backup.

The take down was specfic to fossil only.

Yes in your case it was Fossil they called out.
But I’m still wondering in general if the word illuminator could possibly also be on their list.

It is a common technical term, it should not be flagged. I do not think it is a model or brand name.
Maybe a specific watch feature, but it does only what the word says in any device.
illuminator
in American English
(ɪˈluːməˌneitər)
NOUN

  1. a person or thing that illuminates
  2. a device for illuminating, as a light source with a lens or mirror for concentrating light
  3. a person who paints manuscripts, books, etc., with designs in color, gold, or the like

Careful with typos  the bot is watching you. Did you want to write channel or canal?

Yeah my Spelling is Useless . I was talking about my Friends YouTube Channel in the Description .

Hi Roy,
Protection of copyright owners is definitely a must but so is protecting designer rights. What I mean is, it should never be based on assumption and strictly acted upon the scope of the copyright. Why should -some random watchface with 911 on it- be taken down? Who holds the copyright and to what extent?
For Fallout watchfaces, c’mon, we know they could have done much better

I think both G11 (a weapon) and 911 being taken down would be more for protecting the consumer (same as removing pornographic content, for example). If it’s mistakenly taken down, you can always appeal and have it reinstated

911, as I’d assume, is a car brand’s model name. Please correct me if it means smt else. In that sense, I fail to see how removing adult content and removing a car model is principally the same.

So does that mean I can’t use “Fossil Fuel” in the name of my watchface? :smiling_face_with_tear:

Has someone had 911 on a face Taken down . I have see loads on Facer . I did not know about G11 . If they have had take downs please add them to the Wiki .

Good Point . I used Zenith to describe part of Arc of the Sun . Ladybird is Banned Ladbug is OK . I suppose if you Hyphenated it or Underscore . Please duplicate your work if you think it might be Taken Down .

Always duplicate your work before publishing to avoid frustration

911 (car brand) would be protected by the car company and like I said, if it’s taken down accidentally then you can request to have it restored. Otherwise, 911 is also used synonymously with September 11 in many countries, so it’s use in that context could be the onsumer protection side.
