I just did that.

Mind you, I’ve never used those tools, and don’t quite know how. I went straight to Bing’s version after seeing a link to it in a video, and I typed this:
“design a dark themed watch dial with roman numerals, a date window, and chrome hands with lume”

What came out looks like a creature from John Carpenter’s “The Thing” :joy:

Now that is a Quirky Number . Roman Numerals there are . Many would not see a Problem . I bet Marvin would not be too bothered .

I spotted it right away. 13 noon, running fast time 10 at 9. That AI is has popped a semiconductor or somthing.

Roman military time😄

It looks like it still has a ways to go yet… But we are all running out of time.:grinning:

I’ve tried using AI for other things - didn’t get anything usable.

I really don’t know if it’s me asking the wrong questions or it still has a long way to go, as kirium0212 says.

Roman numbers - if you can read them you know you are old school… I don’t think anyone young can see what’s wrong in the picture…

I guess it’s like teaching a child - the question is what will it grow up into?

As far as I am concerned there is only One Question . Will they ever Get Soul ? Every Artist or Musician , I have seen interviewed , says they can see the diffrence easily . Aparantly they are quite good at Sarcastic One Liners . All that Hey Google comes up with is a Christmas Cracker Joke .

I think they are still in phase where they try to fake the intelligence and blend bunch of training images with some of the matching tags into something “organic”, so when we ask for a perfect round shape and exactly 60 marks it still give eggs with some random hair on the edge. I even think they can not write any regular text into drawing. They have to draw it which then looks more like some shapes and blobs than numbers.
Cant imagine how literal would the description have to be to obtain some symmetrical geometric shapes.
I asked the Canva to draw “Squared watch dial with rounded edges, dark background, 12 golden numerals, 60 white minute marks”. Obtained this:

I love All of those . Not sure which is my favourite . I love the Bot Roman . Lower left . I feel a Challange coming on .
Perhaps a New Topic for Fear of Hijacking this one .
I had a little go on Night Cafe generating some watch hands . I did not persist . Extracting the Hands from images always causes a bit of a Mess .

New here as well. You have some nice faces. I’m a very basic analog guy, but am drawn to the skate designs you’ve made and reflect on a time when I could move without everything hurting…
Keep up the good work!

Maybe i’ll have the courage to publish some of my gibberish one day.

There is no such thing as a Gibberish face . We all started exactly where you are . Please show us whatever you have done . I took down all my Newbie Faces and deleted the Drafts . That is one of the Saddest things I did on Facer . There have been other things , but we will not talk about that . Many take the standard Analogue Template change the hands an Plonk in a Picture Behind them . Some have made it into an Art Form and they are still there Bashing away at it . I think the mere fact that you have posted something here means you are not one of them . I see you know how to Make a Collection Folder and have 2 followers despite not Having Published anything . Well I would call that a good start .

Any face you were happy enough with to publish is a success, regardless of the number of syncs  Even if it gets no syncs, you’ve learned new techniques and refined your practice, which is always a win. Also, there is a lot of luck in a face doing well - A face getting 0 syncs could just mean it was pushed off the ‘newest release’ quickly or wasn’t the flavour that week, but the same face could have gotten 100,000 syncs if it was released on a different day. Best just to enjoy the ride and designing

I call it a success the moment I’m finished with the task of building it and it works properly – even those faces of mine that have had a mere 5 (five!) syncs in 16 months. I have 11 faces with 10 or less syncs, as old as 16 months.

Why? Because I do it just for the fun of the technical and graphical process of recreating every single element of vintage/antique watches and bringing them back to life (mind you, I’m an amateur in graphics). And that is why I have a handful of otherwise unattractive and unpopular published faces: they were all fun to recreate, some were simply extraordinary novelties, and some were technical challenges.

For example, this rather unattractive vintage watch from China that I finished last night. The moment I found this photo a day earlier, I knew I had to recreate it because I wanted to figure out how to do that lattice background, and because this is a major oddball watch with a 3-headed seconds hand!

Yeah interesting second hand . I like the Javelin ones but that looks interesting .
