Facer face isn't 'sticking' upon charging

Something has changed. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Now when I charge my phone the watch face frequently reverts to a generic face, and I cannot for the life of me get my face back. It says to install the companion (it’s already there) and then to select Facer as the face, but it isn’t there to select. Magically (maybe) the face will suddenly appear. Any help would be appreciated.

Reinstall the Companion App Regardless . There have been significant updates recently . I do it every time there is an update . You Lose your faces in the watch Memory but they are easily Synced again from your WatchBox.

I’ve gone that. It doesn’t work. The Facer option isn’t there to select. In any event nothing was updated today and it just happened again. The frustration level at this point is high. I want my watchface back.

Which watch do you have ? Is it selected correctly in the Facer App Settings on your Phone . I have to start at the beginning . Screen shots will tell us so much .

And, as i said, suddenly it’s back. I want to figure out why this happens and why i can’t select Facer amongst the watch faces in the watch. It doesn’t exist. Now i guess it dies although in not going to go looking for it. I’m afraid I’ll lose the face again. This is a far as I get

OK. You have not told me which watch you have but well done for the shot. Looks like a GW5 to me. If that is the case. You have two places to get Facer from Samsung or the Goigle store. As far as I can remember.
I would go to your Galaxy wearable App on your phone. Check you are connected to that watch. I have two Samsung watches. One is a Tizen so you have to be specific in that case.Scroll down and Check the Faces that are Downloaded on your Phone. You will recognise the Facer Logo by now. You should find the Facer app there so click on it. There may be further Instructions on Phone or Watch.
Let us see if this helps.

I had the same screen on my GW5 Pro and it just kept putting me in this loop. Do what Russell says and use the Samsung phone app to select Facer app. It seemed to fix the issue . But man is it frustrating sometimes. Even on a GW5, Facer seems like a chunky, inefficient, dodgy app. I expect that when I run Facer on my 5 year old Tag Heuer E2, but not on a brand new GW5.

I’m sorry, it’s been a hectic day. I had tried on the phone app, I went through all of the steps (I’ve had Facer for a long time, this has never been an issue). This is a Sansung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Even the phone app had been unresponsive when this is going on - Suddenly it’ll just plain start working. I select the phone app, the Facer screen, and it works. But I’ll put it on the charger tomorrow and hope it doesn’t do it again.

It keeps saying to select Facer on the phone but it’s impossible. There’s no Facer showing on the watch screen selection area.

I have zero idea what has changed. I reinstalled the companion app after the last Facer update - seems to me there were two fairly close together. The first update didn’t cause the issue. It seems to have started after the second.

In any event, I’ve got my screen right now, all’s right with the world. Thank you very much for your help.

Sorry there seems to be so much Voodoo with this whole thing. It seems you are saying that it is Working now. That is brilliant.

It is. I’ve just put it back on the charger (I charge in the morning). Let’s see what happens.

I have my Fingers crossed for you . It is wonderful when People follow up on a Question . It seems like a Lot get the answer they want and we never hear again . Good news is always the Best . I wonder what goes on with the Watch when the Charge is finished .

This time it worked. I will revisit if/ when it happens again. Thank you!

Excelent. Thanks for letting us Know.

I have just seen this thread and I was having exactly the same problem with my LG Urbane. I tried to re-install the companion app several times and eventually gave up. Facer has worked well up to now and I thought that they would resolve the issue eventually. Having seen this, I tried again. Bingo! it is now working! But… very slowly. I think there is a lot more processing going on now and my old watch is struggling.

I make it a point to turn off my watch whenever I put it on the charger. The ham radio operator in me keeps thinking that an electrical enduced voltage right next to a miniature computer that’s running isn’t a good idea.

Thank you, I’ll try that, although it’s a new phenomenon, I’ve been charging while on since I got the watch (and previous iterations also).

My TicWatch C2 won’t charge if the watch is turned off. It specifies that in the instructions. I guess each brand is different.

The only time my watch is OFF is during a Reboot . GW4 Classic.

And here we go again. Facer is NOT on my watch to select as a face when I long press. I’ve got some generic watchface, not the one I always use. NO way to make it show up again normally. This gets so damned frustrating. I haven’t wore the watch in a day and a half, just because. This is when this happens. So I guess I’ll wait until the magic pixies decide to actually let me see my watchface again.

Facer had an update the other day. Reboot and perhaps go to the bother of Reinstalling the Companion App. It is all a bit frustrating at times. I actualy feel it is worth the effort. Despite the Rubbish Faces there is a lot of wonderful stuff on Facer.
