Galaxy Watch 6 Coming Soon

I have wondered if they were going to do something like that. It would give them a full year of extra time for each watch for the development. In a way it helps us also by not making us feel the need to upgrade every year.

There is nothing stopping them from adapting the extra tall case area around the screen into a rotating bezel but keep the shape of the watch the same. All it would change is there would be a groove along the edge of the watch to allow the lip to spin.

There speaks an Engineer . I always thought the Bezel was to hide the fact that the Nice big watch has a Smaller display than you expect . But it nicely covers the DEAD part of the display which is unavoidable because of the edge contacts to the Pixels sitting on the Zebra .

I ordered mine the second it was available on the Samsung UK site.
I’m looking forward to it. I think this will be the best yet. The only one I’ve not had was the second.
I love some of the Facer faces, and it will be cool to have a bigger screen to showcase them on.

Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Bluetooth 47mm flavor is the one I went for. I have only had one with LTE capability, and I never made use of it once the novelty wore off. I cannot see the point, for me, at least anyway.
I am looking forward to the physical bezel again, as the touch version on my Watch Pro 5 makes it less intuitive to use. I love the tactile feeling of a physical bezel.
@diavo, there is not a Pro version 6.

Asking for a Friend . What is LTE ? I bet you are very excited .

Oooh, now you’re asking. From memory, so probably wrong, but I think it is Long-Term Evolution. It is the data aspect of your phone. 3g and 4g, for example, are long-term wireless protocols, and they evolve and get better over time.
I would not say I was excited, to be honest. It is just a watch, and it is not a major step up from the 5. Were it not for the rotating bezel, I would not have bothered buying the 6.

OK I see . Basically LTE means a 4G Data connection like your Phone via your Provider . So WiFi Bluetooth and LTE . What next .

That is exactly right. 1g, the first protocol, was an analogue service, only providing voice. 2g was digital and the first GSM protocol, which allowed SMS to be sent as well as voice. 3g was the start of data for online activities, 4g improved it, and we are now at 5g. Each iteration was a huge update to the previous one. 6g will be much better, much faster and allow much more data than 5g does.
I have 6g WiFi at home, and it is blisteringly fast. I am looking forward to the mobile equivalent.
What’s next? I have no idea. But I can tell you I am looking forward to seeing what the future brings with great excitement.

I have noticed as the Frequency goes up it does not Penetrate brick walls so well .

That is correct, but at some point the frequency will start bouncing around and find a way through doorways and other cracks in walls. The 150 MHz range is horrible inside, but the 420 MHz will bounce around and find it’s way through. I don’t have any experience with the GHz radio ranges, but the higher the frequency the shorter it’s over all range is. That is why there are so many cellphone towers.

OK I get that , leave the doors open . Listen is this a Mad Idea . Our Mobiles are Repeaters and there are no Masts the Phones are the Network . Need someone with a Brain here .

Yes, that is absolutely correct. The phone and the cellphone tower are nothing more than repeaters in between the watch and the data source.

Yeah but I mean our mobiles are the Masts .

Actually, in radio terms they are a repeater. They get a request from the watch and then send that request on through the cell network to the data source. Then they transfer that data back to the watch. Or they are the telegraph poles and wires in the network between a code key and a sounder on the other end of the wire. You must forgive me, it’s the ham radio operator and mechanic coming out in me. I’m reacting like you would if I tried to explain coding to you.

It is all an education . I do coding by trial and error . That does not make a well Paid Mechanic . :joy:
